I wont disagree. Non communicable disease like Heart disease are Increasing. Though we have mastered the treatment of Infectious disease and raised up our average life expectancy over 70 years People still prefer to go to Singapore or India for complicated procedures such as Transplantation.

However It is mystery with higher quality of treatment and diet Indian life eexpectancy is significantly lower than Bangladeshis

Its Tradition @Gibbs. You know I hide in every Eid Ul Azha because my parents force me to take part in the meat processing. It is not as if there is shortage of man power but because They did with their parents and consider it a fundamental part of Eid.

Yeah Abattoir sounds good. But people are Skeptical. Sacrificed and processed in own garage ensures not contaminated meat.

No...BD was being flooded even when people there didn't have rice to eat...let alone chicken or beef..it has nothing to with cows...there is nothing wrong in killing cows in any scale as long as all of it is eaten...very few portions of a cow in BD is wasted...I am an atheist and I fully endorse humans doing what evolution requires them to do...they are omnivores eating animals...absolutely nothing wrong in it.

It is probably the BIMARU states I'm guessing which have issues with sanitation, health and hygiene. These states are dragging down India's statistics while Kerala of course has very high HDI numbers at almost all categories.

But Bangladesh had a leg up with all the larger NGO's like BRAC, Grameen etc.

Formation of some of these largest NGO's in the world saved Bangladesh somewhat. As well as the promotion of the girl-child program (food for sending your girl-child to school). Once girls got educated, the fertility rate had dropped to barely replacement rate (~2.3 kids per family). Which in turn improved the HDI numbers dramatically.

When women are working in garments and making their own living, they aren't interested in being 'barefoot, pregnant and in the kitchen'. And not being assaulted everyday either....

With economic development We can now buy Indian Cows even if it costs 100000 tk. The number of people offering Qurbani will only grow up.
