How close has the Royal Saudi Air Force came to the Israeli Air Force?

. . .
If we are talking about a real conflict, then we should point out that the U.S Air Force and NATO won't permit an Israeli defeat at any cost –- irrespective of the capabilities.

Though, they haven't directly intervene in Arab-Israeli wars – the battles that took place were not long enough to justify intervention.

All political leaderships in the Middle East take this as “fact” -- and have generally been passive in painfull recognition of the U.S military might. That didn’t and doesn’t prevent some muscle flexing political speeches here and there.

Bless their hearts, they have implanted this ever-growing cancer into our lungs and watched the slaughter while eating popcorn.

I don't understand what does that have to do with KSA :what:? Israel never fired a bullet against us as we share no boarders with them. The fact might be different if we were talking about Egypt, Syria, and Jordan all of which had gone to war with Israel which was supported by the West, while the others - Egypt and Syria - were supported by the USSR.

Algeria too can serve a better example next to KSA.

The US military might has never been a threat to us either or at least so far.

@Hazzy997

The more isolated we are from the Arab World, the better off we are.

:lol:

In all seriousness then there are no reasons to compare the two air forces (both in the top 3 in the ME IMO) since one plays a defensive role and the other the exact opposite role. Israel also has way more experience which is often crucial. Let alone them living on the welfare of the West who will always support them no matter what.

But I think that RSAF are more than capable of defending themselves from any regional country. They will only get better.

I actually meant to respond to Hazzy's hypothetical war scenario. Though KSA being an active member in the pan-Islamism and pan-Arabism movements makes it a legitimate target for Israel.

The idea of Great Israel, still adopted by the extreme Israeli right wing, includes large part of Saudi Arabia. Also, Israel in 1967 has occupied the Saudi island “Sanafir” in the Gulf of Aqaba (currently administered by Egypt).

Not sure at the moment whether the Island of “Tiran” belongs to Saudi Arabia or Egypt.

Tiran was also occupied by Israel in 1967.

@Full Moon

Are you referring to this "Greater Israel" nonsense map? They can only dream. At least when it comes to the territory of KSA.

Anyway we, as in KSA, already have 1150 islands in the beautiful Red Sea. It is not like we need more.

Sanafir and Tiran are both administrated by Egypt but I don't really know about the historical claims.

If you look at the Gulf of Aqaba then Sanafir is closer to the KSA mainland while Tiran is closer to Sinai.

There is not really a problem there. Small islands anyway. Beautiful waters or not and coral reefs, LOL. We have that in abundance anyway. Both countries.

We never have been pan-Arabists whatsoever.

Tirana was never ours, Egypt got them back when they signed the Camp David Peace agreement.

Yeap. That bloody map. Though largely a dream rather than a reality

What is absurd about it? Go ahead. Enlighten us.

There are people out there that seem to think war is a video game and would like to use the Saudi (or any other good air force) to do their personal bidding, to fulfill their personal hatred/grievances. Not specifically referring to anyone in this thread. Just a general observation.

And who are the best in that?
Lets leave the answer open;)

No I'm not, I just wanted to see if Saudi Arabia would ever take the lead in having the top notch Air Force in the Middle East.

I also don't view war as a video game because I've actually experienced.

Shame on you for making such observations. Didn't expect that from someone like you.

Shame on you for also accusing me of hatred, only because I support the Palestinian cause.

No else receives this treatment for supporting their home people.

What a cowardly way out.

When did I ever care about asking an Arabic nation to go to all war out against Israel? Show me one example if you have any honor.
