Her face etched with pain, a child trains for Olympic glory while her gymnastics trainer stands on her legs.
The cartoon space rockets and animal astronauts on her tiny red leotard are a stark and powerful reminder of this little girl's tender age as she trains as hard as any adult athlete in the Western world.
Nanning Gymnasium in Nanning, China, is one of many ruthless training camps across the country to which parents send their children to learn how to be champions.

But while training techniques appear extreme to Western eyes, they provide an insight into why China's athletes at London 2012 seem so easily able to swim, dive, lift and shoot their way to victory.
Gymnastic stars are known for starting at an incredibly early age, and this group of children appear no different as they battled to complete the demanding routines on bars, rings, and mats.

Boys and girls who looked no older than five or six-years-old were tasked with swinging on beams, hanging from pairs of rings and bounding across floor mats during the physically strenuous training sessions.

The youngsters at the same training school will be hoping to emulate the success of 16-year-old swimming sensation Ye Shewin, who glided into the record books on Saturday night.
Only last January harrowing photographs were posted on the internet showing Chinese children crying in pain as they were put to work.
In case they had forgotten why they were there, a large sign on the wall reminded them. ‘GOLD’ it said simply.
Charges are often taught by rote that their mission in life is to beat the Americans and all-comers to the top of the podium.

we are better trained in both sports and battle fields than other countries,in Korea and Japan they even train their athletes harder, for S.Korean archery training they made their archers stay in the graveyard and put snakes into those suits to train their nerves,Indians maybe have trouble to understand East Asians hard working and training ethics, nothing comes out easy.if you like to be an solider in the battlefields or an athlete in the Olympics, you train hard to be a superman.we believe in this.

Looks deadly, but very effective.

In our school days, I had seen a documentary of how the soviets would throw few week (or month?) old babies into glass water tanks - the kids would struggle and thrash around at first, but then automatically start paddling and come up for air.

The same kids beome fish like natural swimmers.

And win gold medals by the bucket.

We should keep our traps shut about sports. We are just not an athletic race.

Posts like this really come across as sour grapes, seeing what we are doing at the Olympics.

How can athletes in such fierce competition in the courage to start, steady play? South Korea's success turned out to be snake!

post-match conference, when reporters confirmation to the Korean coach, "South Korean archery team to the psychological quality of training of athletes, is practicing with the snake gall," when actually received a definite answer, "I 'm curious how do you know the secret of our success, we do have some special training methods. "

according to South Korean media reports, South Korean archery team athletes to improve anti-interference ability, often at the ball park or parks other outdoor training, this method also the United Kingdom and Taiwan, trying to copy.

more "devil" training methods include the snake into the clothes, dressed up by the assistant instructors and other female members of ghosts scare in order to exercise the courage of athletes to overcome fear. In the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games archery team competition champion Lien Qing obtained once said: "I used frequently in the competition is nervous and difficult to obtain good results too, so barely caught the snake by hand." < p> the best for the players, "Liver children chatter" and is the coach of the "suicide" sparring, coaches braved the danger of an arrow, standing or sitting next to team archery bull's-eye, requiring a super shooter must have calm state of mind.

how to improve the athletes also face psychological problems, apparently the way the Chinese team "soft" a lot. Chinese archery team coach Tian Yu Ling said the actual combat, is training to participate in such large events, such as intense competition today is so wonderful for our young players and the will of the highest quality mental exercise.

if you don't like it ,you can always quit, kids fight hard to be holding on to those training schools, only the best can stay.my girl friend is dancer started dance training when she was barely 10 years old and lived away from her parents.it's like a hell to go though, every kid cried a lot everyday, but even those young kids know what they were doing and always encourage themselves with their ambition and dreams,in 2008,one of her classmates became the chief dancer in the Olympic opening ceremony in Beijing.

It is not always about winning the medals. Indians are good at cricket and we won the world cup in our own way, not this brutal way.
What we are seeing here is a mall group out of thousands of other kids who are tortured and left out because they are not good enough.
Remember a hand full of will only fetch (may be) 30 odd gold medals and what about the other thousands of kids whose Childhood was ruined with out their will, This is not war this is life.

What this communist regime is doing is a propaganda for its dominance nothing more. Olympics is just a sporting event nothing more but for communist regimes because it has to show its firm grip over its governance, This will become a propaganda tool, They will show how the athletes who won the gold medals are enjoying with sports cars and luxury apartments and will continue their brutal training ways.
Where as democratic governments like US and India who care more about people's freedom and human rights will not take this route.

Imagine the uproar that would have happened have these pictures are related to Indian athletes in India.
