What's new

How can Pakistan counter this new Indian land Radar called "Swati"

lol Yes we know that , Until n unless China not using any new Technology , they even wont get it, Radar Source code fallen in Enemy hands means total wastage of radar, Forget Radar code, first you need to manufacture CHIPS/ IC / CPU etc for the radar.

As I said. We would get what we need to. Enough for us. Swati or no swati. We have equivalent options in use and that is enough for us.

We have parmanu kabootar :enjoy:

On a serious note, my sources tell me that were working on EMP bombs and laser technique.
That could easily shout down the unit.

If you now forgetting one thing, radar range is 50KM ,
Achieving Max range for a Weapons locating Radar in Mountains is difficult due to many factors.

A position with an optimum screening crest may be difficult if not impossible to find. Terrain may also narrow the search sector because of inadequate electronic line of sight (ELOS). The radar must have electronic line of sight (ELOS) to the projectile being detected to acquire the weapon

There are many others factors that can limit range in mountains like communications, basically communications between the radar and the supported unit will normally be conducted using FM digital and/or voice communications. Electronic line of sight is required for FM communications. Radar position must have adequate line of sight to facilitate FM communications with the supported unit.

Then there is Slope and Crest. The slope of the terrain must be at required degrees or less to ensure proper levelling of the ATG (Antenna transceiver Group). The ATG will not operate properly without levelling. Ideally, the screening crest should be in friendly territory and located approximately 1000 meters in front of the radar, perpendicular to the radar's azimuth to centre sector.

Then comes Track volume and optimum vertical angle, which are affected by terrain and Crest.
Track volume is the amount of vertical coverage required by the radar to detect a projectile and compute a solution. The track volume is determined by the vertical scan of the radar and the amount of vertical scan lost because of the terrain contour, or screening crest in front of the radar. The optimum vertical angle if not achieved reduces the ability of the radar to produce enough track volume to compute a weapon location or impact predict point

Care should be taken to avoid obstructions in front of the antenna that might attenuate the radar beam, this means concealment directly behind mountain ridge may not be best, and then again on mountain top will make an easy target for enemy.

Indian present 155/.45 Calibre has around 35-38 KM range and
new developing 155/52 calibre will be having 42-45 km.
Add to this , Consider Indian MBRLS range also.....
Now if you bring Missile , Consider Brahmos also in Action..
So?
None of Indian weapons are out of range of Pakistan Artillery, MBRL, HATF series, CM's, NASR or Aircraft delivery weapons like ALCM's, ARM (MAR-1), JDAMs etc.

if you ask your Army , you cannot put M109 on hill top, For hill stand along guns are most perfect, Which can be reached easily though air and assembled again.
India will also not put all 30 WLR's in mountains.

As far as my knowledge goes , AESA radars are lest to get jammed by using the technology you have in ELINT/ EC/ESM etc. Until you think you are Far ahead from Israeli in this field technology.

Don't you think It already been taken care of using algorithms....Indian Army used / test this system in severe electronic clutter and “high density fire environment .
Frequency Hopping over a spread spectrum works both ways. The amount of time that a radar is switched on, keeps transmitting frequencies jumping over a spectrum which are picked up by the enemy and inculcated in own equipment for jamming. As the article reports, Swati has been efficient in "reducing" Artillery fire from Pakistan, means all the frequencies that it transmitted have been recorded already. This also means that if PA artillery in reality has reduced its firing, a new tactic and locations for artillery deployment would be in process or considered already.

So, it has been taken care of all right. Keep transmitting it on LOC.

BTW which chopper will lift 28T Monster and without getting effected by Indian gun ?
In mountain warfare Two Artillery is most suited but has disadv, that's why India bought Bofors, self moving tow artillery guns.
130mm guns got broken down in parts, lifted by chopper and got dropped and assembled in forward lines in Mountain regions. Indian Gun was busy in having a scandal with Swedes probably to fire for effect.

Detect the radar and target it.

Detect the radar and target it.

power of such low profile low cost indigenous weaponry is as much in bleeding Paksitani military budget that already is threatening bankruptcy of the economy.
oh really. do you know we surprised you in kargil by using such technologies and we will surprise you too.

Thankyou for writing so much lines, explaining how radar works. But In short, WLR radar detects the projectile after launch , might be Mid way or before or after, compute its Speed, Fly path , angle etc. and then Estimate the launching coordinates using backward computations.

It involves law of physics :), Mathematical algorithms. This is the advantage of making your own radar, at least you know how radar works. :)

Swati Give 100x100KM area map , with detection rage of 50KM , if 100KM range projectile fire , it can detect and give coordinates up 100 km back. I hope you got how WLR Works.

you haven't got the point, the point is Indian weapon can be placed out of PAK guns, Lets take your super Artillery M109 etc. it has range of 28-30 KM , which Indian Gun range of 38KM -50KM .

now If Indian gun placed out 35KM behind, they can still target PAK Guns while PAK Guns cannot even get closer. Just a example.

India will also not put all 30 WLR's in mountains.

India might place , might now, who knows , Their might be some reserves also.

you are talking like Novice , All radars around the worked on particular set of frequencies, yet most of them jammed proof. What dose it Tells ?

130mm guns got broken down in parts, lifted by chopper and got dropped and assembled in forward lines in Mountain regions. Indian Gun was busy in having a scandal with Swedes probably to fire for effect.

Lol, India already started production 155/45 cal which you don't have any match in range till now, and also by next year start production of 155/52 cal which has 50km range .... cheer up made , you need update your knowledge.

Indian has 130mm guns with Higher calibre which are more then range any 130mm PAK guns, these Guns was developed by India and now on verge of replacement from 155mm/52 cal gun.

Except performance will be inferior to western and Chinese systems, believe me I am all for this "make in India", it saves the lives of our precious jawans, thank God you are not purchasing alternative Russian hardware!
Lol, yes , that's what you think using patron tanks in war but Hay Indian Special designed Recoil Gun Ammunition blow up the patron tank which armour is more then 1inch think consider Invisible, forget Anti Tank rocks they were blown by Recoil Guns....oh man , US was so ashamed they stop production of that.

Indian system when made n inducted, they are having best of the best capabilities.

Completely irrelevant points to discussion (WLR deployment + Radar basics), read my post again and reply otherwise dont waste my time and energy on this non-sense.

deploy swati at chinese boarder
last time a chinese jh-7 baladqar indian airspace for 2hrs

India got WLR, good for them but if they think we dont have similar capability its foolish thinking and stupidity is that Pakistan can not take them out in war.

Certainly both India and Pakistan can deploy WLRs and can counter opponents WLRs too.

Simple, just bring our own Swatis' ;)

lol, I already proved your points wrong on many counts and you need to update knowledge other then School basic how things works. ..... and bust your Myth bubble on the radar technology etc, read my post again for better clarifications on your own points.

I wonder , how can you Compare 30KM Gun with 40+ KM gun in Artillery Duals . Indian Gun can sit outside your gun range and still target your Gun easily.

India got WLR since long back, India made its own WLR .

You couldnt prove me wrong even once ... thats why I am still asking, how can you achieve max range for WLR?

Let me give you a hint to help you out since i know you dont even know these terms or Frequency Hopping for that matter.
start with stating optimum crest and slop and then how will u get max track volume as well as vertical angle in mountains. Now go and google them first, then come back and reply with something which we arent even discussing, as usual.

After you be a good lad and reply what i asked, including Frequency hopping(myth? whats your argument to it, none !), then i will reply your querry.

We need to invalidate the fundamental assumption of this system: artillery shells follow a ballistic trajectory. This might mean creating entirely new technology, but the idea is to add a guidance system to the shells similar to J-DAMs that uses the momentum generated by the gun and aerodynamics to guide the shell to its target. Such systems might already exist, I haven't googled yet.
