How a 14-year-old boy took up arms in #Kashmir

I do not disagree at all.

This will consume successive generations if Kashmiris.

But really, my question was about the effectiveness and the end game of such resistance.

To be honest, the Kashmiris have been given a really long rope.

They lost the nation's sympathy (short of land ever changing hands of course) when they went Mongol on their Hindu brothers.

We've had huge bloody riots in India. But after the bloodletting is done, life goes on again, and Hindus and Muslims go back to living side by side. Each in their own zones.

Except here in Kashmir.

When you consider that, you will agree we have been extremely restrained.

I do not doubt there are good people among them. But Indians now see them as a collective entity. One that did a genocide. And now want to break away with your help.

You can imagine what the Pakistan army would have done to such a populace within Pakistan.

Cheers, Doc
I think you probably regret India annexing Kashmir in the first place, a bit too much trouble, trouble that will never disappear as they are all too keen to join their brethren across LOC.Kudos doc

Not at all.

Kashmir rightfully belongs to us and we lost a large chunk of it to you at a time we were ill prepared, naive and unaware of the strategic ramifications for the future. Vis a vis our access to the CAR, you and China syncing up, and us losing our land bridge to Afghanistan.

We can ill afford to lose any more.

The people really do not matter in front of the interests of the nation at large.

You guys will have to accept that should you or they push beyond a point of no return ...

Cheers, Doc

Kashmir is much bigger thorn for Pakistan than for India. We can afford to have Kashmir, with not much visible effect on our economy, growth or on our population. On the other hand, Pakistan lost decades of economic growth, lost half its country with generations turning radical, and at the end Kashmir 'movement' is termed terror by US, and its leaders termed terrorists.

Kashmir links us with China/CPEC etc it is going to propel our economy form strength to strength.

I don't think you will have smooth going with CPEC. India claims territory where CPEC passes and India is not going to keep calm and let the business be as usual. India could bring pressure on China and may go international on terming CPEC illegal.

That will be even more beneficial, It will further highlight Indian forces atrocities in KAshmir. YOu cannot say that Its Indian matter when you like it and block international observers and then ask for their help once you need them

But that is how international affairs are. Everything is about self interest. Even Pakistan would have done the same were it in India's position.

And you think you will gain any audience ?

This is China we are talking about, against Indian brutal occupation of Kashmir. The more Indian highlight and bitch about that, the more unwanted attention they will receive on KAshmir.

Hence, it is win-win Situation for PAkistan. We Are fine status quo. As soon as the pakistani side of KAhmir prosper you will see more opposition in Indian side, while India trumps its mythical case of Illegal PAkistani occupation, you will find that India will be challenged at international forums by Human rights and all for denying the KAshmiri very basic right.

And the more exposure India will get....rape dungeons, blinding kids etc

It will not be the only thorn. We live with many others.

What we will ensure though, by any means necessary, is that the side will be ours.

As will the thorn.

Cheers, Doc

I agreed. But there are many brothers like Zakir Musa, Basit Rasool, Shaabbir Maxwell, Adil Reshi and Ishaq Newton who left luxurious life to get freedom.
I dont agree. Money plays a important role here.
The so called separatists leaders and high profile terrorists all will vanish into thin air the moment their funds dry up. Immediately after demonetization there was absolute peace in the valley till bank robberies took place.
Neither can separatist leaders nor high profile terrorists live without luxuries of power that money brings.

Correct. But can you explain why a young man in my avatar decamped with his service rifles and join militant ranks. As per your logic Hizbul Mujahideen is providing him more luxuries compared to Indian Army.
I give you one suggestion raise salaries of soldiers and troopers 500 times i assure you ZAkir Musa, Riaz naikoo will be in recruitment camps. :D
