I just wanted to get your guy's opinions on the recent hostility towards Iranians on this forum site in light of recent events. Namely the border guards being killed and the whole Iran not accepting the Muslim alliance.

It seems as though everyone else just blantaly hates Iran for reasons that are contradictory to their own. Supporting terrorism is a pot calling the kettle black kind of issue and ones mans terrorist is anthers freedom fighter. But other than that I guess their opinions on the a Iranian gov are ok, I mean I don't like them all that much but I'm not in Iran and neither are the people commenting against iran. So I think the final say should be up to the Iranians and not some Pakistanis and Saudis and Turks and Egyptians and Algerians.

Are you asking about states or general populations?

Obviously most Arab states have contentious relations with Iran, but ordinary, normal people are not particularly antagonistic towards Iranians. Many Iranians ourselves dislike the regime, but to varying levels. But Iranians are pretty universal in our dislike of the Saudi ruling clique and some of the other Arab ruling cliques. That does not mean, however, that we are against those places as nations. We just dont like their politics.

By the way, i dont think you should draw any conclusions from a website like this one, which is full of uneducated people that have no grip on reality (just flick through a few posts and you get the 'drill'). Plus South Asians are completely different from the Middle East and dont factor into what transpires in our region. What you read here is irrelevant to the lives people are living in Iran, Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt, Turkey etc It reflects only the views of some minority privileged Pakistani elite that want to play 'soldier' on the internet and are completely in denial and detached from the reality of the common poor folk of their own country.

Finally Muslims are not a monolith and 'Muslim nations' diverge greatly with each other culturally, socially, racially etc You cant draw too many generalizations. Iran's relationships with other Middle Eastern states isnt 'sectarian', unlike what the dumbed down Western media likes to project about the Middle East. It is much more complex than that. Although sectarianism is ONE variable, im not denying that.

Yeah you right I guess... I just hate people's ignorance towards certain subjects. I just can't control myself sometimes lol. that one fellow in the other thread about Iran not wanting to join the muslim nation alliance thing was being really ignorant. He would actually have me believe that somehow Iran is less stable than its neighbors. How stupid is that? I didn't want to provide empirical data and factual evidence due to how stupid he was. It's not worth my time.

Idk it's just sucks sitting in back and watching you Iranians get constantly bashed for everyone from new weapons to politics and so on... if I didn't know better I'd say your neighbors would like nothing more than to see some bombs go off in Tehran so they can get the sick satisfaction of saying "hey you're not all that better than us, hahahahaha".

Yep im sure some sick people would love that.

But i think people generally on this website are just hyper active and full of hot air. I dont take people here seriously at all, and i dont think they are being serious either. People seem to be here just to waste time and build an online fantasy Pakistan that doesnt exist in reality. Probably because the reality is so grim and depressing for them they would rather not face it and tell the truth.

I voted for the third option.

Contrary to this forum and its nationalistic occupants I think Pakistan is the only country which has an overall positive view of Iran, as per some polls. Its really sad that the western propaganda is working.

You haven't been on the internet long enough... lol.

These types of forums... they are nationalistic troll infested buckets of crap. Look how extremely few people here make any sort of technical analysis with or without empirical data. In the Iranian section we have @eagle2007 and @PeeD who provide the detailed technical analysis (their posts are more quality > quantity but I guess thats what makes them valuable). @Penguin visits from time to time but mostly its just trash. Israeli, Arab and to a lesser extent given their number Pakistani trolls are the norm. Most people here think the Bavar-373 is a bad copy of the S-300 even though it looks completely different from the S-300 in all respects.

My advice is, don't fret over these idiots, you have nothing to gain from it. Float around, if they troll you, have some fun and troll them back. Don't expect them to reply intelligently when you reply intelligently.

I voted for the 1st one, as there are muslim nations that like Iran and then there are some that don't like Iran. Majority of Pakistanis like Iranians whether they are Sunni or Shia. So i am sure its the same with other countries as well.

Pakistanis are one of the only people who can look through this Sunni-Shia crap and view Iran in a positive light. Iran is a neighbor that shares heritage, historic, cultural, ethnic, etc... links with us. We are in a sense, very similar to each other.

I hope we can all move on and look forward to close relations like it should be.

I used to be on the Iranian Military forum, and i witnessed the same thing that you mention witnessing on this forum, people filled with self obsessed ego, drum rolling war against all of Iran's neighbours, and thinking that Iran is a mighty powerhouse and invincible. Their hatred towards Pakistan made me start hating Iranians too. But then i meet the people in real life and my perception and hatred dwindled away, i found them to be really nice, friendly and polite people. I learned so much more about Iran, good things like the culture, the food, people's hospitality, natural beauty of the country and i also learnt the bad things like the poverty, obsession with plastic surgery and a few other minor things.

Made me realize how important people to people contact is, its the only way to improve relations. Unfortunately there are elements in every country with their own agenda that try to limit these so that they can manipulate the general public and to build perception to their liking.

Contrary to what trolls on this forum will tell you, I think Pak-Iran relations are in a good place. There has been collaboration with Chahabar and Gwadar, improvements in financial infrastructure, and cooperation between the military leadership of both countries. Rohani also took time off his election campaign to greet a Pakistani delegation, and termed Pakistan a 'trusted brother'.

Right-wing morons on both sides keep propagating arguments to make themselves look superior, but the honest truth is that neither country is exactly in a good place. There needs to be work done on some outstanding bilateral issues, but overall I don't see Iran as a bad country.

Culturally we have far more similarities than differences, so it would be foolish for either side to hate the other.

Contrary to @ای ایران and @BlueInGreen2's obsessive hateful comments directed at Pakistan, the rest of the world views you even more negatively! LoL!

I voted for the third option.
Its really sad that the western propaganda is working.

No not Western propaganda, it's hosting Kulbhushan Yadav that's working! So I don't think the perception remains same as it was in 2013. Sad how all our neighbors are trying to gang up on us.

Sectarianism causes hate, the Iranian regime does it and the Arab regimes do it,all of the nations which get caught in between are forced to pick a side even though, they dont want to.
This ''Muslim Alliance'' thing is another example, its also sectarian, they knew Iran was never going to be a member of an Alliance created by the Saudis.
I didnt votes because some nation do and some dont, the option is not available.

Interesting. I wonder who you were. We did have a number of non-Iranian members who only came to the forum to troll.

Kulbhushan Yadav

Are you guys still on this? Sheesh.

You have to understand that nearly 40% of the Muslim world are unable to read or write, this is based on reports from the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation and the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization and it was reported in 2015.

People like that are easy to brainwash, convince and sway. And there is both a theological as well as cultural war against Iran these days. Propaganda, fake news and etc. People don't really understand what's going on unless they look into it themselves and the majority of people don't. Sectarianism, is something a lot of people bring up. But I've yet to see any influential or big people within Iran say anything Sectarian. However, there are many edicts and sayings from the other side where they say Shiites are this and that and need to be killed, solely because they are Shiite, or "Iranis". Keep in mind, that I'm not a Shiite myself. But I am Iranian.

I had an interesting conversation with a Turkish friend of mine, who's father is an Imam at a Mosque in one of the suburbs here, they are Hanafi. And they told me about the propaganda going on. And basically that Salafism/"Takfirism" is being spread like a wildfire in some of the Muslim communities, because there are certain countries promoting this around the world. And it's not a surprise that there are terrorist attacks and controversial things happening in the name of Islam.

These are the people that make the Muslim world look bad as well as causes strife and hate amongst the Muslims. These are the people that the west look at when they talk about Islamic terror and etc. But they don't know that there is just this group that is this way and instead generalise.

Anyway,
10-20 years ago, the hate against Iran wasn't like this. But thanks to theological propaganda and conventional propaganda, it is what it is. For example, Some people are so ignorant that they think there are no Sunni mosques in Iran and that the Sunnis are being executed for being Sunni and etc. And this is just some of the propaganda and bullshit being told about Iran.

Interesting. I wonder who you were. We did have a number of non-Iranian members who only came to the forum to troll.

My username is the same as it was there. I didnt last long because of the hatred i and farhan9099 recieved there.
