Horrifying scenes in Natore: Repeat of October 28 2006

.
Where are the so-called champions of democracy and human rights now? Where is BBC? Just imagine something like this happening in Sudan or Iran and these hypocrites will be all over those places expressing their concern and disgust!

. .
Is this the same Natore on which Jibananda wrote the famous poem?

Yah, It's the same place. I think Bonalata sen is also afraid like me.

By the way, you signature by R Tagore is like the sonnet by Shakespeare:

....................................................................................................

Age considers; youth ventures.
-Rabindranath Tagore
....................................................................................................

William Shakespeare (1564–1616). The Oxford Shakespeare: Poems. 1914.

The Passionate Pilgrim, XII.

“Crabbed age and youth cannot live together”
CRABBED age and youth cannot live together:
Youth is full of pleasure, age is full of care;
Youth like summer morn, age like winter weather;
Youth like summer brave, age like winter bare.
Youth is full of sport, age’s breath is short; 5
Youth is nimble, age is lame;
Youth is hot and bold, age is weak and cold;
Youth is wild, and age is tame.
Age, I do abhor thee, youth, I do adore thee;
O! my love, my love is young: 10
Age, I do defy thee: O! sweet shepherd, hie thee,
For methinks thou stay’st too long.

Train accident was planned: Khaleda

Dhaka, Oct 11 (bdnews24.com) — BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia has termed the train accident in Sirajganj a 'planned' incident and urged the people to protest actions of the 'killer' government.

"The government designed the accident," Khaleda said, "It was not an accident."

"We cannot expect justice from this government as it gives shelter to killers like Shaon," she said referring to Bhola MP Nurunnabi Chowdhury who was recently acquitted of a murder case from 2001.

Shaon also made the headlines recently because one of his close associate had died of a gunshot fired from Shaon's pistol. However, it was said that Shaon was not present at the scene. Shaon's driver admitted to shooting the associate in custody.

She said these in a meeting on Monday at Natore, which was dedicated to the memory of Baraigram Upazila chairman Sanaullah Noor Babu, killed on Oct 8 allegedly by ruling Awami League activists.

Earlier in the day, at least five people were crushed under a train around 3pm when people were gathering to join the rally of the BNP chairperson at Ullaparha.

Mentioning of the Dhaka's demonstration on Tuesday Khaleda urged people to be prepared for it, saying, "This is not the time to hold janaja. The next programme will be announced from Dhaka."

She said "Those who have been killed people since Awami League took office, including murderers of Gama, will be tried if BNP takes the charge."

Later, she visited Babu's resident at Bonpara around 7pm and expressed her sympathy to Babu's wife Mohua Noor Kochi.

Khaleda after the visit said, "The government is being administered from another country."

BNP standing committee members Khandker Mosharraf Hossain and Sarwari Rahman were also present.

BNP supporter beat the driver and guard to death.
Dont understand the meaning of calling a public meeting on a train line?

.
When convicted criminals who were about to be hanged are pardoned by the Presidential decree incidents like the one in Natore are narural. Khaleda wanted to give the government full five years but the AL government took it as a sign of weakness. Let's see what happens next.

Who is to be blamed?

Rakib Hasnet Suman from Sirajganj

It was not a usual ground for arranging a mass rally in Sirajganj.

But, the local BNP selected the Sayedabad ground, which is three kilometre away from the Bangabandhu Multi-purpose Bridge, to avoid possible “trouble” with local Awami League at Ullapara--where the rally was supposed to be staged.

On October 1 or 2, the BNP took permission from the local administration to hold a student-mass rally at Ullapara on October 10.

But, the BNP shifted both the spot and the date of the rally as local Awami League also selected the same venue at Ullapara to hold another rally of their party.

After selecting the Sayedabad ground, which is 10 to 15 yards away from the Dhaka-Dinajpur rail tracts, Sirajganj district unit BNP general secretary submitted an application to the local administration on October 8 seeking security measure at the ground to hold the rally there.

Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku, president of Sirajganj district unit BNP, said this to The Daily Star yesterday when he was asked about the selection of the venue.

While Mosharaf Hossain, superintend of police of Sirajganj, claimed that the BNP did not take permission from local administration to arrange the rally at Sayedabad ground but sought security measures.

“If we asked them [BNP leaders] not to hold the rally at the ground, they could raise allegation that the government is putting obstacle before the opposition to hold the rally,” he added.

Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku, president of the district unit of BNP, said, “We thought that we got the permission as we did not face any obstruction and we arranged the rally.”

He also said there was no scheduled train to cross the Syedabad station in between 3:00pm to 6:00pm yesterday.

The Dhaka bound Drutajan Express was supposed to cross Sayedabad station around 2:20pm like other days. But, yesterday it came there 45 minutes later at 3:05pm starting from Dinajpur.

The reason for delay starting of the train from Dinajpur could not be known immediately.

Meanwhile, the central BNP leaders started delivering speech from the stage and thousands of BNP men and locals took position at a spot on the rail track, which was 10 to 15 yards away from the main stage.

Witnesses said though the signalman was waving the red flag hearing the whistle of the coming train, people were not paying much attention to him. They were rather busy hearing the speeches of BNP leaders over loud speakers.

And suddenly the train ran through a crowd on the track leaving five dead on the spot.

Witnesses said the train driver probably tried to stop the train at the last moment as it stopped 100 yards away after hitting the crow.

However, details on the role of station staff could not be known, as none of them was available after the accident.

Momrez Hossain, stationmaster of Mansur Ali Station, which is before Sayedabad, said there is no telephone connection between the stations.

Usually, Sayedabad is informed about schedule of train arrivals there by Jamtoil station, which is before Mansur Ali Station, he said.

But, it could not be known immediately whether Jamtali informed Sayedabad about the arrival of Drutajan.

“It went out of the control of my volunteers to tackle the huge number of people who stood on the railway track,” said BNP leader Iqbal.

Who is to be blamed?

Don't you think it is still the responsibility of the BNP leadership to ensure people are not standing on the railway track? Even if there's no other suitable place to hold a mass rally in whole Sirajganj, it would be utterly irresponsible for any leader to let a crowd gather near a rail track, let the followers kill railway staff, then pass dirty unapologetic comments to the media.

Will you people keep supporting BNP through all its misdeeds? Don't you realize the two parties are two sides of the same coin?

.
so now lets go back to the caretaker government atleast they were more civilized. Less economic progress but greater public welfare.

So you are suggesting that the BNP placed its own supporters on the railway line for them to be killed so that they could make an issue out of it. This is the character of the AL. Have you not read 'Amar Fashi Chai'?
