This is true as students in HK have the heaviest load of school work already comparing to everyone else, and have no time for those nonsense. Besides people in HK are very apolitical when it comes to those idealogical mumbo jumbos, the things matter the most are the things that can affect their daily lives.

One thing is that I thought school curriculum is a local matter that should be decided by the HKSAR government, how did CCP gets its hand in this.

patriotism education is necessary but important
you can spend less time on this lesson but can't cancel it
for many years' practice mainland school have already known how to take a balance between normal lessons and patriotism education

i suspect some organizations in shadow are using those children and parents for shaking social stability in HK.

stating the carefully selected historical events with a carefully selected view points

All countries have some form of history teachings where patriotism is a part. However, people are not as stupid as you would like to believe, especially an educated society like Hong Kong. There is no need to explain the differences between teaching history and love of country versus what is outright propaganda. People can use the keyword search and there are plenty of definitions and explanations on what is propaganda and why it is a dirty word in any free society.

Well, there is no denying that some materials are not useful at all. However, is it wrong to teach HK people to love the motherland??? Is it wrong to teach history about Chinese history, heroes, current development at all?

Depends on how is it taught and to what target audience. Looks like the HKs does not like the version being exported to them.
