Honda launches new Civic in Pakistan

LAHORE: Honda Atlas Cars launched the much anticipated new model of the Civic, 2012 in Lahore on Tuesday.
In a grand ceremony, accompanied by the president and chairman of Honda, the 9th generation Civic was introduced with enhanced aerodynamics, elegant simplicity of exterior design and enriched ergonomically designed sophisticated interior. It brings with it an armoury of innovative features. Hondas intelligent multi information display (i-MID), steering wheel with audio and cruise control functions, automatic climate control air conditioning, economy mode for fuel efficiency, immobiliser with an alarm security system and a unique jack-knife key with trunk opening function are salient. All Hondas automobiles are compliant with the Euro-4 emission standard and equipped with Dual SRS (air bags).
Speaking at the occasion, Honda Atlas Cars Chairman Yusuf H Shirazi reiterated his confidence in Pakistan and its economic potential. He underlined that the Honda Atlas quality is an attitude aimed at winning customer acceptance, trust and goodwill, gains being a long term objective. A direct contribution of Rs19 billion to the national exchequer by the group in addition to indirect revenues were mentioned. He drew attention towards the inconsistent government policies, pointing out that the import of used cars did not only fleece the customers but also slowed down industrial development. He said that imports filled pockets of few opportunists against the long term investments made by the automobile industry. He emphasised that Honda is all about accepting challenges, but let the challenge be fair, even and conducive in nature.
Honda Atlas Cars President Takeharu Aoki gave an overview of Honda and its attention to create technology that is at the forefront of innovations. He spoke about the milestones attained and hardships faced by Honda Atlas Cars. We are proud of producing the 200,000th unit in July this year, he said. Inconsistent government policies and the retarding effect of used cars imports adversely affected the company, Aoki added. We are not in any competition as we know that our standards are not being touched by any other company, Aoki said.
The new Honda civic is available in seven different colours. The price range started at Rs1.969 million for i-VTEC manual transmission and goes up to Rs2.319 million for VTi Oriel Prosmatec transmission.

and it starts from 10 lakh 
, cost me almost 17 lakh rupees. Its drive is better than Civic, has better features and most importantly it gives me 25km on a litre. With petrol touching 106 rupees per litre, i am more than happy with this car. I have given up on the idea of buying either locally made Civic or Corolla. Instead of buying these inflated cars, i am better of importing it from Japan.
