Once it is sailing, then drones/planes can literally fly over it and take photos and there is nothing that Indians can do to prevent them.

There is stuff that is indoors, number of people/facilities etc which cannot be pictured from drones/satellites. There are more things on ground than that can be pictured from sky. Moreover, a shipyard is not in international waters that you can fly a drone over it.

May be such simple concepts are too insignificant to be registered by the highly intelligent and the brightest brains (BD people) around. But us stupid and dim people have to deal with sad realities.

Intelligent UKBengali here!!! They didn't take permission to visit the naval base cum naval shipyard and after landing here expected that upon reaching the naval base they would get permission to enter the strategic plaxe where even I as a Indian citizen wasn't allowed to see things. Wow you just went full intelligent(if one understands what that mean). Thank you.

i totally support them.....if these individuals or students were from countries other than china or pakistan...they would have completly allowed it .

Naah I don't think any foreigner will be allowed casually like this because an Indian citizen also doesn't get the permission for the same there. Its not only a defence shipyard but also headquarter of India's southern fleet and currently one of three top security bases in India in naval sector. Thank you.

Much bigger risk is the design and construction of naval aircraft carrier. apart from this shipyard is part of naval headquarters and a major naval base itself. don't forget China is going to build a aircraft carrier from scratch. they gather information by all means. period. thank you.

BDs don't believe in getting permission or visa. They can cover themselves in lungis and get in anywhere. Some BDs have even reached UK in same way.

Stupid move imho, give them permission, and show them only things you want to show them.

One can never take chance when what they are reqesting is inside India's third fleet headquarters. Maybe even Indians also don't know that CSL and naval base are same there. I could count all the ships there and their major equipment what project they were making from outside and that too from distance of km. So I couldn't understand how so much eager students will not be able to gather secret information from so close even if you try to keep them off from your Projects. And mind it I was also a student 2 years back when I had gone there. Damage can be done or information can be gathered without damaging directly. If those gathered informationis applied in making Chinese carrier who will be at loss, those Chinese students or India. Some time its better to be watchful than be sorry later. And who can forget Vikrant launch ceremony Chinese same actions. Thank you.

And yes, a Chinese drone flying from Pakistan can fly very close to the INS Vikrant and photograph it as it would be in international airspace. The Russians do that to US aircraft carriers all the time.

Shipyard and naval headquarter and base are all same dear. And they are looking for a design, not on paper one. Thank you.
