HJ-12 | Chinese Top Attack ATGM

.
As of August 2014, India has launched the Modern ATGM Project worth over 2.5 billion US $. Under this project India will directly acquire 900 launchers and 3,200 missiles from USA. This will be followed by transfer of technology to Bharat Dynamics for indigenous manufacture of 1,014 launchers and 34,660 missiles.

FGM-148 Javelin - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Well that is alot of Javelin being acquired we will need a substantially high number of HJ-12 to keep them in their rat hole.

.
India media mocked that HJ-12 is not affordable for PA. The reaction from many Chinese military forum fans is that we could send it free to Pakistan when our brothers need it. It would be sarcastic if PA can get HJ12 before IA get Javelin.

Very obviously that HJ-12 is deterimental threat to IA's T90 MBT.

I think PA will be the first customer invited to test it if they show interests.

In time PA would be customer of HJ-12/variant is definitely going to be part of anti-tank Inventory in the future either direct buy or TOT. PA already have equippment that are unveiled 5-7 years after its induction/operational.

If India thinks China can't afford hundreds of HJ-12's then Indians are more foolish than originally thought.

Unofficial Chinese military budget is already massive and growing very fast to a much larger base budget than Indian budget.

Once China sells this to Pakistan, India is screwed!

The Indian media claim Pakistan army can't afford not PLA. who the hell in their right mind thinks PLA has no money? The second largest budget in the world.

By the way, given Indian slow procurement. I can bet, it will take many years before IA can get the full 900 launcher and 3200 missiles.

.
don't confuse war time with peacetime, if absolutely necessary the PRC can obviously churn these out by the millions

and to be fair, in peace, the PLA is quite cheap, right up until recently, ordinary individual squads couldn't dream of having a decent, man-portable anti-tank missile (i dont consider type-69's to be "decent"). however more recently, there has finally been a major change in doctrine, calling for a rethink in squad level weaponry, and thankfully they decided to include a decent anti-tank weapon for squads across the board, but even so, its taking quite some time.

i don't believe the HJ-12 will be widespread in the PLA anytime soon, unless a major land war breaks out, but there will certainly be groups that will be fully equipped with these, i bet the infantry in the 38th GA already got to play with these, given they always get to play with the new weapons and they have to face down both potential Russian and American threats

HJ-12 may not be comparable to Mirak series as earlier is similar to Javelin and later is similar to Hell fire both are bit different in class but look deadly and PA may induct both, as new IBG threat poses fast moving armor threat which require more anti armor missile which can be deployed easily and fire n forget capable.

HJ-12 has low range at night, 2000 meters range will put infantry at risk.

MIZRAK-O | Medium Range Anti – Tank Missile « Roketsan

Dear both systems are bit different its like comparing Spike and Javelin missiles, HG-12 is much easier for infantry to carry then Mazrak-O, but PA should acquire Mazrak-U for mounting on vehicles and helicopters it is very potent system, I don't think PA have enough money to buy Mazrak-O & U both with HJ-12 so it may be Mazrak-U & HJ-12.

PA have Baktershikan & TOW to fill the roll of Mazrak-O for now.

Is TOW more advanced than Baktar Shikan and I think we first should go for HJ-12

Dear, what Mazrak-O does Mazrak-U can do better so no need for "O" now as FnF version of Bakter Shikan is also said to be under development.
