Historic uprising of Bangladesh silent majority
April 6, 2013 is momentous day in the history of Bangladesh no matter what outcome waiting in days and weeks ahead. Bangladesh silent majority Muslim population since independence had been repressed by neighbor secular imposition, hostile politics of Awami League, labeling and instigation by its civil society class and by Awami secular media. Bangladesh independence had long been hijacked by indian and Awami League political and hegemonic business using 43 years old independence wartime atrocities. In these 43 years Awami League and indian combined political and media muscle labeled Muslim majority population as fundamentalist, anti- Bangladesh and even anti-independence just because they resented indian branded and Awami League imposed secular doctrine.
Awami League had already changed Bangladesh constitution, removed majority Muslim aspiration and pushing to ban any Islamic political party. Muslim woman faced constant attack and abuse from law enforcement, Awami League regime itself and Awami League run judicial system. When stage honchos from Indian and Awami League orchestrated fascist gathering attacked Islam and Islamic faith, Bangladesh Muslim majority population realized that their existence as Muslim and way of living as Muslim and Islamic faith are in grave danger.
In such backdrop, Chittagong based Islamic educational institutions and their leaders called upon Muslim majority for resistance against attack on Islam and Islamic faith. Bangladesh Muslim majority population which already felt their back on the wall and was grasping for leadership, responded with overwhelming support for Hefajat organized April 6th Long March program.
Awami League regime and its communist/atheist partners called on strike and forcefully shutdown Bangladesh transport system to thwart todays long march. But hundreds of thousands of Bangladeshis arrived and arriving Dhaka on foot, on boats and whatever means they can find, facing torture and attack from Awami League party thugs and from genocidal police on the way.
But, Muslims in Bangladesh arrived in this historic April 6th, 2013. All eyes at Allama Ahmad Shafi and his leadership team for their message and direction for next action.
