- A different name is not necessary but the concept of a riverine corpse under or not under the BA is important.

- BA needs more shallow draft boats/ ships that can move on the surface of almost any water of the country.

- Dredging all the rivers may need a trillion dollars/ $1,000 billion or more. Do you want the govt to print dollars and buy dredgers from western countries?

I would rather see developing of the ansar force. Develop all the conventional capability you want. Its the cost fighting an assymetrical warfare with BD that will deter india.

Hence more focus should be put on developing BD paramilitary forces and peoples militia who will be able to wage assymetrical warfare in support of bangladesh army in wartime to defend the country and work with police to maintain internal law and order in peace time.

With regards to burma, they will never fight BD. Too fracured as a country. The generals have enough problems on their plate. Why add more?

Last time Indian army was in Bangladesh they had trouble crossing the river, Manekshaw even wanted to launch operation at the end of 71.

After needle, water pump, assembling car etc Bangladesh can't even build dredgers now in it's shipyards.

The bozos should have installed indigenous steam engines in all their vehicles. We should do the same with our dredgers and missile carriers.

Riverine warfare is Bangladesh Army's forte. We don't need two different forces.

Let them finalize the deal for amphibious tank first. Aziz kagu inspected Bradley IFV in last USA tour. We already have leased few Bradley in UN mission.
