Hindus join Muslims in Kerala for beef party to protest Dadri lynching

KERALA (Web Desk) – Kerala is called the God’s Own Country for its sheer natural beauty.

But in recent decades the state has shown another beautiful trait that is even harder to come by in this beautifully diverse country – the strength of secularism.

The state has forever shown great examples of communal harmony. Even though in recent years there has been a rapid influx of communal forces and a surge in their popularity, Kerala remains largely secular and in good spirits.

The latest such scenario is the unified beef-eating protest organised by Hindus and Muslims together on the steps of Kerala’s state secretariat in Thiruvananthapuram.

The group of protesters was trying to prove a point that killing someone over ‘rumoured’ or real consumption of beef is not just unfair but downright heinous.

The members of the group called ‘Solidarity’ wore placards saying ‘Eating Beef Come And Kill Us’ throughout the protest even as they were serving ‘porotta and beef curry’ to all those who cared to join.

Beef ranks highly in Kerala’s non-vegetarian cuisine and people of all ages and faiths consume it.

This is in sharp contrast to the misleading view that Hindus should not consume beef due to religious constraints.

Are hindus in southern india ok with consuming beef?

. . .
I had a Keralite colleague while I was in Dubai for a project. Whenever he used to go India he brought beef pickles and used to offer me. I came to know from him that in Kerala beef is ok for Hindus. The person was far more religious Hindu than me and used to follow all rituals unlike me.

Although I do not consider myself a religious person, I cannot take beef due to the teaching from my childhood. But that friend is extremely religious , still takes beef,

Hinduism is not a monolith like Islam. There is no Koran for us. Some people are trying to abolish the diversity and openness of Hinduism by imposing a monolithic order like Islam

Yea Hindu should eat beef. Its very delicious meat . I miss last year when i was at home during qurbani

Dont they find the cow to be holy and sacred and all that?

I'm a Tamil Hindu (very religious, btw) and I used to eat beef, although not any more due to health concerns. Hinduism is flexible when it comes to rituals and practices. All that matters is you should be able to reconcile what you do with what you believe in. You'd think that, the current Defence Minister as a BJP minister and as a RSS member(not to mention, a Brahmin) ought to be a vegetarian. This is what he said, when he was asked what he would miss about his home state as he goes to the centre: Will miss Goan fish curry, says outgoing CM Manohar Parrikar - Oneindia

However, the protest in Kerala if conducted by Hindus, is fine with me. But if it were the CPI (M) cadres, who suddenly declare their Hindu identity just for this protest, then that is just one of the many hypocrisies that will alienate the commies from even the beef eating Kerala Hindus.

I do. I love bacon too. Have you tried that?

Which Beeef cow or bufellow?

I cannot stand against the smell of bacon. Beef is my favourite meat then mutton/fish and chicken is my least fav in meat

There are many Hindus who are equally revolted by beef just as you are by bacon. So keep your advice to yourself until you have tried bacon.

On a side note, when we south Indians say mutton, we mean goat meat. We hate sheep meat and that is seen as some kind of a cheap alternative. If you ask me what my favorites are, I cannot pick any. But still, I find duck meat to be too bony to enjoy the meal. Also rabbits are a bit bony too, but the flesh is flavorful. So these are the two I'd say are my least favorite.

You should try donkey meat and it will be surely better than meat of pigs :D

Have you tried that?

well i am not forcing them to eat and i was just expressing my opinion about beef . I have no problem with those who dont eat it as long as they dont force others to not eat it and punish them for eating beef..

sheep/lame meat is also mutton and thast what you get in europe in the name of mutton as they dont have bakri/bakras/goat but yea goat is much better than sheep/lame . I cannot eat birds meat eventhough some of them is halal. Its too tender

they believe in licking others behind .. well done mallus!
and you are geerutmund Hindu who will kill those who eat beef
