Hindus from Bangladesh are welcome: Gadkari

If you can quote Sources of West Pakistan on gradual decline in Hindu population, your post will make some sense

As for East Pakistan % of Hindus as per decade

1941 28.0
1951 22.0
1961 18.5
1974 13.5
1981 12.13
1991 11.62
2001 9.2

Source:

For the decade of 1961 to 1971 the decease is gradual just as it was for the last decade ,not sudden drop

:blink::blink:

Anyways from 1941 to 1974 the percentage drop is 14.5%
from 1974-2001 the percentage drop is 4.3%

now tell me which looks sudden?

Exactly my point , there not much significance for 1971 war and drop in % of Hindus.

All Indian minorities have grown in % and numbers,Though individual HDI estimates don't seem to exist

why are you even arguing with them i know what is the condition of minorities in our country they live happily here let them see there dreams and why dont you guys take back all of your bangladeshis back from india if you have so much of problem with us and if the minorities were facing so many problems why wont bangladeshi muslim return to bangladesh

.
We should welcome anybody who is persecuted in other country because of his religion, political leaning, writing etc.
It is shameful that we could not keep Taslima Nashreen.
If a muslim is persecuted in bangladesh because of religion, he/she should be welcome too.

I dont think its a good idea. You see your total population as of now is same as China's but your country's size is not even half of China's size. And you should be thinking of your own population who need attention from their government, not worry about some other country's citizens. India is also a 3rd world country with more poor people than the total population of Bangladesh all combined.

Think about India's own discrimination of the minorities as this is the country where religious riot and conflict happen quiet often... where the politicians do not hesitate to make minorities illegal for vote bank politics... needs to rant on the minorities... during election... where radical extremist terrorist orgs has agenda like nazis and conduct terrorist activities in the guise of minorities to blame them... n some one from this country came here with suggestion to introduce citizenship for asylum seekers... Do whatever you want but ask your radical hindu extremist politicians like this to stop ranting and oppressing the minorities...

So if that is the case, how come these Indian Muslims don't seek asylum in Bangladesh or Pakistan? Do either of these countries have a policy of accepting discriminated Muslims from India - considering both these countries were created as "abode for Indian Muslims".

Brainwashed lad it seems. Check out your relatives, may be they were BD people themselves. O I forgot half of India's population is Bangladeshi.

You have a point, we don't usually accept minorities from neighboring countries(I'm not sure though) but the question is why do you do it? As it seems this practice promotes large scale migration of minorities affecting the cultural fabric.

This is a rather grey issue for me. Minorities face some form of discrimination to an extent in all societies. India is a secular state - so we can't be giving refuge only to Hindu Bangladeshis. Why not Buddhist Bangladeshis from the Hill Tracts too? At the same time, Hindus across the world have India as kind of mothership but because we are a secular nation we can't have a Right of Return like Israel does. If we do then we can no longer be secular.

We Pakistanis have accepted millions of Muslims from India from 1947 and onwards. Our MQM political party has invited more than enough Indian Muslims, even recently after Gujrat riots of 2002. That is one of the reasons why there is so much tensions in Karachi. Its not a good idea to invite large groups of people from an arch rival and expect them to be 100% loyal to the country they moved to. They will think about their families back in their ancestral land, and their family roots.
