Hindu rights activists and leaders have demanded introduction of special quota system for the "religious minorities" in the Parliament and job sector. Bangladesh Hindu Parishad made the call at a press conference at Dhaka Reporters Unity yesterday.

They demanded 60 reserved seats in the House while 20 percent quota in government jobs was also sought. Putting forward five-point-demand, General Secretary of the Parishad Sajan Kumar Mitra claimed those were to protect the Hindu community as well as democracy in Bangladesh. The Parishad President Dipankar Shikder said: "The Hindu population was 40 percent before and after 1971 it has been dropped to 8 percent. Frequent threat, repression, attack and harassment compelled the community people to leave the country." "We want to live in the country. Please ensure our security and consider the five-point-demand," he urged the government.

We need to get rid of quotas...not introduce new ones!

This sort of affirmative action does more harm then good...

Next we'll have the jamaati dogs saying, hey we represent Muslims...we want reserved seats (ignoring the fact Muslims make up 90% of the population)

Jamatis think Bangladesh is a kafir country because Sharia is not enforced, nor do they believe in democracy, so we can ignore their complaints.

Yes, I agree, affirmative action does more harm than good. It's discriminatory if you think about it. Pakistan tried this, too, and they later scrapped yet. All it did was marginalize non-Muslims in the National Assembly, ignored and politically isolated.

Looks like time is ripe for another population exchange. Muslims of India could emigrate to Pakistan or Bangladesh while non Muslims of Pakistan and Bangladesh could emigrate to India.

India is not a country it is a multi state it should be divided into different states another independence is needed in India. The division of India will reduce domestic violence and terrorism.

Dharmics would decide how Dharmic states should function while Muslims could decide how Pakistani and Bangladesh states should function but the first step I guess is to exchange the Dharmic and Muslim populations.

If Muslims of India have to emigrate to Bangladesh and Pakistan then we need a second partition of India since India was awarded many Muslim dominated areas in 1947 as they claimed to be a secular country.

A war will make the new dynamics of India. There is very high requirement of a civil war with in India and as the dust will settle the dynamical population of India will be finally at peace.
