The Indian ambassador to the Kingdom said yesterday that a non-Muslim Indian expatriate who strayed into the “Muslims Only” part of the holy city of Madinah earlier this week was never facing any stiff penalties for his trespass. His comments were made to clarify media reports in India that said the man faced a long prison sentence or even the death penalty for his alleged crime.
“It’s all fabricated stories and in fact Jojo was never tried or given the death penalty,” Indian Ambassador M.O.H. Farook told Arab News yesterday. “Rather he was released (on Tuesday) by the Saudi police.”
Police detained Jojo Joseph, a non-Muslim from the south Indian state of Kerala, early this week while he was traveling in a taxi within the area of the holy city near the Prophet’s Mosque that is reserved for Muslims.

An Indian worker in Saudi Arabia will not be executed for trespassing into the "only Muslim" part of the holy city of Medina, despite demands for his execution.
Jojo Joseph, who hails from Kerala, was arrested by the Saudi police for allegedly trespassing Medina earlier this week while he was on his way to hospital to see his wife, who had given birth to their child.
Indian ambassador to the kingdom Farook told Arab News on Wednesday that Joseph would not face stiff penalties for his alleged trespass.
He was never tried, did not face an enduring prison sentence, nor the death penalty for his alleged crime, Farook said, denying media reports.
Farook said Joseph had made "enough noise" about his arrest and told his family members that he could be beheaded, but he was released on Tuesday after being detained for three days.[/
"The Saudi authorities took a lenient view of the case after they were convinced that the man did not deliberately commit the mistake of entering the holy city's restricted areas," the ambassador said.
There is no such recorded incident where a non-Muslim has been executed for trespassing restricted space in Medina or Mecca.
Please post the story or link.I have been trying to find it but keep coming up with nothing.
you need to stop spreading propaganda against Saudi Arabia.
Non-Muslims are not permitted to enter Mecca. Road blocks are stationed along roads leading to the city, with officials conducting occasional random checks to confirm that intending visitors are legitimate pilgrims and in possession of the required documentation. While one of the purpose of these checks is to ensure that the visitor is, in fact, a Muslim, they also serve to prevent illegal immigrants including guest workers whose visas have expired or who have not attained the extra permit required to perform the pilgrimage.
I am still waiting for your story.
