He doesn't have the authority to do that. The most he is going to become is the prime minister, not an absolute monarch. Even a PM cannot change the basic character of the constitution.

He will have to scrap the constitution and that is not possible because then old country(India) will cease to exist. It will have to be a new country.

it'll be hard for aviswasi(non-believer, non-hindu) . they may be forced to live in camps or ghettos for safety while radical Hindus will have a free run! Saffronists will be celebrating the achievement of Raamrajya perhaps by attacking Aviswasis.

Secularism is a basic feature of our preamble, and even the Parliament (let alone the PM!) cannot amend the basic features of our preamble. Even if they do, the SC will just strike it down.

Btw, why would he want to do that? 2014 is surely not the last time elections are gonna be conducted?

Constitution can be amended, but the basic structure of the constitution cannot be changed. The secular character of the nation is very much part of the basic structure.

And BTW, amending the constitution is the job of the parliament, not the PM. The prime minister cannot wake up one morning and change the constitution. It is the sole prerogative of the parliament of India, who's members represent the citizens of India.
