Hindu hardliners protest Kashmir tweets in Modi's home state

That is worth hoping for. I do know that many of the youngsters have no time for this rubbish. I say this from, let us say, close personal observation.

The H1B category are ugly, and have carried not only the Hindu-Muslim (and Hindu-Sikh) divide with them, but are also quite unaware of their rooted caste prejudice. Some of the accounts coming out are stomach-turning.

  1. You are their mirror image. When you look in the mirror, you will see a Bajrang Dal soldier.
  2. I don't need allies. If a distinguished person, one of those whom I admire, says some words of understanding and comprehension, it is the balm of Gilead.
  3. If I opened such a horribly perversely worded topic, which I shan't, why should you be interested? Can't you perform your circus tricks on the open highway instead?

LOL this grandpa was fantasizing with an Indian falseflagger yesterday about nuking innocent Pakistanis. Agreeing with the flaseflagger how Indians could wipe out Pakistanis. Yet he is roaming around and no moderator has taken action against this RSS rat. Goes to show where PDF stands. They call him an old friend on this forum.

If you have the time and energy I highly recommend reading this topic to understand RSS grandpa: https://defence.pk/pdf/threads/a-ch...rds-tea-offered-as-usual.735254/post-13558052 Notice how he cunningly agrees and disagrees. Disagree here and there mildly to paint a false picture to manage perception. Agrees where he cannot refrain from displaying his anti-Pakistan feelings. He will pretend all day long he doesn't agree with RSS philosophy. Yet his actions prove otherwise.

Don't worry grandpa. You are on my watch list now. I know you have the backing of the American advisor and a few other moderators on this forum. They will ban me like they always do. I will keep coming at you RSS grandpa. No respite for you.

What is your postal address?

I will have to send you my bill for a replacement keyboard destroyed by an ambushed mouthful of coffee.
Dear Sir,
You are expected to take more responsibility of your keyboard. After all what are we 21st Century warriors without it? I can send you a Made in China cover which has been gathering dust in my godown after my compatriots boycotted Chinese goods last year.

Absolutely huzoor
It was appreciated, but there is also a problem. The problem:

Member: You left out the choicest part. What did his great aunt call the RSS types??
Joe: I shall certainly ask him.
Member: Please do. I'll pester you until you report back to us ...

The contradictions are even more amusing with NRIs - met a gentleman some years ago who was adamant when I asked what part of India he was from that he isn’t Indian and has NOTHING to do with India. “At some point my forefathers(as if they came with the mayflower) were Indian but our family is American” . Saw him at a RSS rally in Houston wrapped in an saffron flag with a placard of “Hindu rights first”..

He works for Saudi Aramco

The NRIs are the worst of the scum. 98% of the Hindu NRIs in the US are Sanghis with a deep hatred against Muslims. They want for Indian Muslims, what they don't want to happen to them in the US. What is even crazier is that they keep telling all their non-Muslim coworkers how bad all Muslims are at any opportunity they get!

I love it. The Hindutva garbage are turning Hindustan into a hatefest against Muslims and minorities. The RSS is a blessing and may Modi remain in power for an eternity.
Modi is the best when it comes to pandemics

“Something parast” - she recalled they would be raising flags and saluting while she as kids would watch them.

What was the kicker that according to her(at least in Lucknow-Bareilly Hindu-Muslim conflicts were much rarer than Shia-Sunni ones.

Many thanks. With this, I am now off the hook!!!

The hurtful part for a 72-year old is that this I have seen in my younger days. We always had trouble even in Kolkata, when the tram lines were cut to allow the taziya to pass (each location vied to make the tallest, most elaborate one), and to our consternation, other friends would stand in gloomy silence and make very acid remarks.

I wish I could recall that something since I discussed this with her less than 2 days ago. But visiting 12 relatives in 4 days for 15-20 minutes in Karachi traffic leaves little for memory storage.

On the topic, one of the most profound dialogues I have heard on television came from a Tom Clancy series comparing France to the US. In essence saying that while in America you can be an Italian-American, Arab-American or any other denomination/religion and still be American - with France you can only be French.. nothing else. Hence the integration issues they face that leads to extremism. Taking from that the advantage India had was that you could be anything (Hindu-Muslim-Sikh-Jain) and still be Indian.. if you take that away then that is it.. you are willfully creating extremism and chaos.

As it happens, there are three non-resident Indians (one, a doctor with his own hospital in northern California, has dropped out after COVID hit the world), and they are completely at odds with the bozos you have described (yes, I know, you mentioned 98%, not 100%). The two non-resident Pakistanis are listened to with avid interest by the others whenever they have something to say. Incidentally, three of us are also members of PDF, perhaps none very active.

Exactly.

Modi's mistake was thinking that he could shove Sri Rama down the throats of Bengalis, and bring them into the Hindi-speaking belt, in sentiment. If I was not allowed to be a Bengali (adjective) Indian (noun), I would feel stifled.

This is the fundamental mistake that Modi and his morons are making (sorry for the rude word). They think that they can push Malayalis and Tamilians, and even Telugus, not to mention Odiyas and Bengalis and Punjabis, into the same mould. They couldn't; they won't be able to. The Gujjus and the Assamese are exceptions, for very specific reasons.

Modi's politics has no intellectual depth. He came to power on an anti Congress platform and the lure of that anchor has waned now. In his initial days I was willing to ignore his lack of intellect, and resented as classist the 'chaiwala' put downs by snobs like Mani ShankerIyer. Over time I have realised that someone managing a complex entity like India cannot be so disconnected with its history. Time and again, in his forays into various states (especially smaller ones), I have found that his speeches reflect a last minute sweep of the internet using Google to gather low hanging fruits about the region he is visiting, putting excessive focus on them to the extent that it starts sounding unfamiliar even to the locals, and then going on to talk about irrelevant issues.

A little more than that, but yes, this is a familiar model and it is increasingly unsaleable.

Take the cue from the complex entity and let us move forward. There are three things that are essential in that context.

One, the decision-maker must surround himself by carefully selected experts, and must avoid amateurs from his background or type of weltanschauung like the plague.

Two, he or she must work through the consequences of any decision promoted by those experts, and be convinced that the consequences, first, do not harm any citizen, second, have no side-effects, third, are 'good' for the country in the medium term.

Three, nothing, NOTHING should be done for grand effect. That aspect of a situation should not be considered even to a minute extent.

Would you agree, and would you also agree that the NDA and its leader have failed on these three points?

Hundreds of Hindu nationalist protesters marched in the Indian state of Gujarat on Saturday, prompting the closure of stores owned by several multinational companies caught up in a furore over social media posts supporting disputed Kashmir.

The messages were last week by the Pakistani branches of firms including Hyundai Motor, Kia Motors, fast food chain Domino's Pizza and Yum Brand Inc's Pizza Hut and KFC, which also operate in India.

They were issued by the companies on Feb 5 to coincide with Pakistan's Kashmir Solidarity Day, held annually to commemorate the sacrifices of Kashmiris struggling for self-determination, and caused anger among social media users in India.

"These companies cannot be doing business in India and at the same time supporting Pakistan's stand on Kashmir," Dinesh Navadiya, national treasurer of Hindu nationalist organisation Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP), told Reuters during a protest in the city of Surat.

Shouting slogans such as "Kashmir is Ours" and wearing saffron scarves, more than 100 members of Bajrang Dal, another Hindu nationalist group, also joined the protest - one of several held in Gujarat, the home state of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Both the VHP and Bajrang Dal are linked to Modi's ruling Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP).

The furore has highlighted the risks faced by companies operating in India and arch rival Pakistan, which control parts of Kashmir but both claim the Himalayan territory in full.

India says Pakistan supports an armed insurrection against New Delhi's rule in India-controlled Kashmir that broke out in 1990. Pakistan denies the charge and says it only provides diplomatic and moral support for the Kashmiri people.

"We protested peacefully against these companies for the tweets by their Pakistani affiliates in support of Kashmir," said Hitendrasinh Rajput, spokesperson for the VHP's state unit in Gujarat's largest city of Ahmedabad.

"We want to make it clear to these companies and others that Kashmir is an inseparable part of India," Rajput said.

Companies including Hyundai, Kia, Domino's Pizza, Yum Brand's Pizza Hut and KFC, Japan's Suzuki Motor, Honda Motor and Isuzu Motor issued apologies as criticism grew over the posts.

Instead of behaving like idiots on the streets, they need to ask what are India's arguments in the Kashmir dispute.
Nehru signed a document with Pakistan and United Nations to hold a plebiscite in Kashmir region, which India has failed to do.
