This may not be entirely true.

Irfan was a great actor but not the ideal Muslim. He stayed silent on ALL of our issues. When he did open his mouth he spoke against the community practices. We have expectations from public figures with Muslim names.

I am not saying he was not Muslim, but he used to do puja and all. Anyway, that is between him and Allah SWT.

Point is that most Sanghis (I only used to follow prominent handles) are mourning him. He was a poster boy for the 'right kind of Muslim'.

Because he was probably not a practicing Muslim and made several anti Muslim /Islam remarks in the past.

Irfaan was a brilliant actor and a better human being - I was sad when he died.
Next day another guy died - couldn't care less.

but if I were to say that there were a thousand "Hindu" people mourning the great abhineta's passing for every 1 one shitposter, I wouldn't be too far off the mark.

Would these "Hindu" people mourn a Naseeruddin Shah the same way? He is also an actor par excellence. Many of Hindus mourned Irfan Khan because he was considered a good muslim for speaking out against certain Islamic practices. Yet this didn't stop certain Hindus from celebrating his death just because he happened to be a muslim. I've seen many "completely normal decent" Hindu people posting highly bigoted and disgusting posts against muslims. And I can post those posts if you want me to.

Lynchings didn't start after Corona, boycott of muslim vendors and business establishments didn't start after Corona. There were calls for their boycott long before Corona came. Its just that the boycott is more open and blatant now.

I'd place Irrfan right next to the likes of Naseeruddin Shah, Pankaj Kapoor, Nana Patekar etc in terms of talent, what an artiste !

Why would you call Irfan Khan a "muslim" when his wife was a HINDU ?
