At most going by the record we can say he is neither proven to be good or bad for Hindus. So Hindus will then judge by his opinions outside of simple religious identification. If they fear being tagged along with Muslims, they will migrate to the democrats (or if they just generally prefer dems/clintons in the first place to begin with). Those that see Trump being better in other issues, will choose him (esp if they revile Hitlery's emailgate and overall political-based corruption). Then there are others like you describe that have a deep seated anti-islam mindset. But you have applied this "psyche" to cover all Hindus supporting Trump. How does attitude that differ from the way Trump initially implied a blanket ban on Muslims entering the country? No that's not hypocritical. A great majority of muslims dislike trump with only a tiny minority having some kind of soft corner for him. I am basing my conclusion about bharatis because I have some proofs for that. We all know a group of bharatis celebrate Trump's birthday in India.
