Hindi must get official language status at UN, says Rajnath Singh

.
Its pretty ridiculous when one needs to make out a case for making "official" a language that is spoken by one-seventh of all mankind.

The UN is all gas.
It's a stupid move. But not considering the impending Bihar elections.

That said, the UN is a bogus org as well. :D

There should be only one language that is official in the UN.

Koshur.

I don't know about the UN so much, but I know the WHO quite well.

The Hispanics and Africans punch way above their weight there.

. . . . . .
Currently, the official language of Indian government is English. If no country use Hindi as the governing language, why is it needed in UN?

WINISIS Training Manual in Hindi language published

No need of making Hindi official language of UN if that would cost us so much money...we are fine with english and moreover not all indians relate themselves with hindi.

4. At the present time, there are six working languages of the General Conference (Arabic, Chinese, English, French,
Russian and Spanish) and eight official languages(the above plus Hindi and Italian).
It was at its second session, held in Mexico in 1947, that the General Conference decided to add Hindi (at the time called Hindustani) to the officiallanguages.

How PM Narendra Modi learnt Hindi while selling tea at railway station | Zee News

Prime Minister Narendra Modi used to help his family at their tea stall at railway station in Vadnagar, Gujarat in his earlier days is a well-known fact.

But not many may know that his childhood experience helped him to hone the Hindi language.

On Thursday, while addressing the tenth World Hindi Conference PM Modi said that he learnt Hindi while selling tea at the railway station.

As per a report in The Times of India, the PM said that he used to talk to cattle owners from Uttar Pradesh in Hindi in order to sell tea and this helped him to learn the language.

The PM also wondered as to what would have happened if he had continued to speak in his mother tongue Gujarati.

He also wondered as to how he would have reached out to the people at large and understood them.

As per the report, PM Modi stated that he was well aware of the strength of language.

However, he emphasised that apart from Hindi, other regional languages should also be promoted.

Hindi is an official language of India. But court rulings and Indian constitution interpretation of Indian courts are in Ebglish. So the ruling language of India is in English, not Hindi.

Since English is the ruling language of UN and India, there is no need to add Hindi in UN.

But english is not just the UN language and if Hindi language becomes official language similar like Arabic, Russian and Chinese , why you would have any objection ?

.
As if P5 criteria applied then Arabic & Spanish feel the heat.
Hindi have one of the largest speaking population.

And yet most of indians dnt understand hindi .. Which is surprising .. I think ur national language shd be kerala or tamil
