So if our industrialists cannot even package a raw product gifted by nature and export it as premium product instead of shipping blocks of salt what does this tell us? God forbid expecting them to manufacture products like computers, cars etc and exporting them.

Wow, so even Pakistani Basmati has now been tarnished by the laziness & unprofessionalism of our industries?

What will it take for them to stop exporting raw materials at dirt cheap rates, and let enemy countries package them and make the bulk of the profits? It is treason.

Don't want to hurt feelings here, but no.. this is not the case..

I opened a restaurant in 2014 in UAE, and used to purchase rice from a wholesaler, who was a Pakistani. He gave a brief history of our rice, until when we were beating India in quality, and when we just lost the market to India. Post jamhooriyat of 90s, there has been no research done to increase the quality and size of rice grain in Pakistan...

Only now, in the last 2 years, our Basmati is catching up in quality and size.. and we are seeing extra long grain basmati in markets here in UAE.

Also, Indian rice got banned in Europe due to use of excessive pesticides 2-3 years back, and Pakistani farmers took some benefit of the situation.

In Norway i have seen pakistani salt, at norwegian grocery store in danish parking. So Denmark packs, prepares it and sells it expensiver. I have also seen it sold at at at thai store in Norway, sold for 65 norwegian krones for 500 gram. At the moment 1 norwegian krone is approximately 17 pak rupees. That means 2210 pak rupees pr kilo gram
65 kr * 2 for= 130 kr for 1 kg
130 kr * 17? 2210 pak rupees per kg

I am not sure the price at norwegian store, but i belive its cheaper.
