The Chinese media 42 Hao Garage (42号车库) recently did the Highway navigated autonomous driving test among Xpeng P7, NIO EC6, and Tesla Model 3.

42 Hao tests the three vehicles in the express way route between Shanghai and Hangzhou. It did the rating of their autonomous driving performances along the following dimensions:
- Available areas
- Passing the ramp
- Lane changing/overtaking
- Interactive experience

The rating along the four dimensions:
Available areas: Xpeng P7 and NIO EC6 equally good; Tesla Model 3 worse

Passing the ramp: Xpeng P7 best, NIO EC6 2nd best, Tesla Model 3 worst

The US regime media created fake Image is hit left and right in China.

Tesla should speed up efforts to export made in China cars overseas as China market will turn into a slaughterhouse for it.

Tesla fanboys won’t like the results. Tesla is the most overhyped and overrated company in the world. The amount of pro-Tesla propaganda is at insane levels. People act like Tesla is the only EV company in the world.

Tesla is not the only EV maker in the world. It's one of the few EV makers that actually SELLS around the world. Most EV companies are just hyped up posers who think they are successful but in reality they sell poorly and nobody outside their home country even knows who they are.

Nio and Xpeng currently are just hyped-up posers.

Tesla's highway autonomous driving skill is overly hyped, as the test clearly shows. Maybe it could have a good performance in the US, but its performance in China is disappointing, especially in the dimension of exit/in the ramp.

Maybe those systems are built specifically for Chinese highways and would perform differently if run on the same highways Teslas have to run on (US, Europe,Middle East, Australia, NZ, South Korea, etc)

I'm not an expert on autonomous driving technologies; I'm just a normal consumer from China. To me, I care more if Tesla's self-claimed superb autonomous driving capability could help me on the Chinese road network. At least the test done by 42How shows a disappointment that Tesla's FSD package, although it is USD10k in price, is not as powerful as its self claim.

Well that's certainly true. The more the local tweaking the better. For example the Tesla full self driving Beta is only available to those using US road systems. They are currently tweaking it to add Canada and Norway. It can't be used anywhere else.

if china is successfull in making some quality e-car companies, then it will be death of German, japenese and American car industry similarly what Chinese mobile manufacturing giants have done or huwei and zte has done to telecom operators

They supposedly did that in 2009 with BYD's big announcement of having the first affordable 100% EV family sedan to be sold worldwide. This shocked the big automakers as it caught them completely by surprise.

Unfortunately BYD could not deliver and it was considered just hype and Tesla was the one that woke them all up again by actually delivering on the promise of the Model 3 (not the expensive Model S). Now everybody has moved into EV's.

Xpeng P5's autonomous driving performance on the busy city streets.

Xpeng P5 is priced at USD 30k only. With about 500km in EV range. Incredible value for money!

Well if you are talking in terms of their EV cars then that makes their current EV sales picture look even worse. It's available in more countries than Tesla but only sells 1/10 as many. Is this widespread buyer rejection?
