Highest Mountain in Kargil is in PA Control

hmmm, another feel good thread to get attention away from chaos in pakistan?

save the water source for coming generation of south Asia.

Point 5353 is where the LOC goes and was never a Part of India.... And There was some one who said they can cut off the supply routs, well All you can do is watch Drass-Kargil rout and Highway 1A, Not an Inch more can be done from such an Altitude

We are talking about tiger Peak captured by PA in Kargil War .It is in control of PA , yes or no ?

So are your peaks ....... the Vajra (as we call it) in Gurez subsector is just one to name .. big difference.

I would only ask all to see the video appended to this thread.

Count the number of peaks that you can see.

Check if any of the peaks can be left vacant.

Then calculate the number of troop required to hold each peak.

Note holding the peak is not adequate. Water has to be ferried up from the valley (except in winters when snow could be melted), then some chaps have to rest. then there is the requirement of some chaps (adequate not to be ambushed) to go on link patrols to the next post as also check the surroundings for any infiltration, then there will be the requirement of some chaps for administrative duty like cooking etc and so on.

Now, calculate the number of troops per post required and then calculate the number of peaks that should be held.

You will find that you need the a large part of complete Army so to say to just protect these heights.

Therefore, those heights are held which as per the appreciation opens up the avenues.

Of course, this is the most rudimentary of explanations and there are many more reasons that is there for siting of posts that would require a couple of lectures, as would be given in a military school of instructions.

Tiger Hill is with India.

Yes , PA can cut Indian supply line any time , more enjoyment lol:pakistan:

Yes of course, With Pakistan's GDP flowing in with Milk and Honey has the potential!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyways, It is in the Line of Control interms of Indians mentallity, and Pakistanies can just have a field day dreaming of cutting Indian supply lines....

Discussion is about the HIGHEST peak at Kargil. It is under Pakistani control. Final ceasefire was declared after 2002, Indian forces tried to retake for quiet some time but were unsuccessful.

Made of "glass" indeed. I'm beginning to loathe these indos to a whole new degree. They conspire and twist, come in with a huge smile and friendly words, and then backstab. They have a negative history of interfering, waging wars, intimidation, and propaganda with EVERY neighbor of theirs.

They make this forum less enjoyable for everyone.

From 5353, Pakistan cannot 'cut off' the National Highway 1D, but it can interdict.

It must also be taken into consideration - the field of view - since there are mountains that obstruct a wide view.

Imagine look into a narrow valley.
