High-speed train derailment in China kills 1, injures 8

do you know trains can be protected from landslide prone areas ?
But if shortcuts are the norm and human life has no value, such accidents happen.
In India? mudslides are never a problem in India? but at least you admit that it has nothing to do with the train itself.

That’s a natural disaster you dumb Indian cunt. It can’t be prevented, maybe if you stopped shitting on the streets you’d see how demented your post is.

Fucking retard.
LoL, It's just Indians being Indians.

as a erstwhile Pakistani, you should not comment on trains , since Pakistan has zero inter city electrified lines.
Its above your pay grade.
Radar systems to check track blockage are very old , not even 21st century.

China now is in rainy season, mudslides become very common in mountainous regions, trains and cars should pay extra attention when they travel in the mountains.

My commiserations for the dead and the injured.

Trains are a ridiculous way to travel, unsafe and requiring big infrastructure. Airships are the way to go. They are making a comeback for passenger transport and cargo transport. They can land on any reasonable stable surface even water and snow. They don't need a big infrastructure like long runways that are needed for aeroplanes. Airships are slower perhaps can go up to 200+ kmph but that is an advantage because it gives a better human experience during the travel plus better for the environment because they can be powered ATM using hybrid solar-petroleum combination and all this fuel will be doing is turning fans. And in countries like India most people crowding trains don't need to travel at all. Elsewhere too, people like some MBA traveling from Wall Street to London. They are wasting food, water and contributing to pollution by traveling unnecessarily. So bring in the airships and also control travel.

RealNapster, I will soon reply to you on that space travel thread. Sorry for the delay.

Indian trains are the deadliest in the world

"BEIJING (AP) — The driver of a high-speed train in southern China was killed and eight people were injured when two cars derailed early Saturday after hitting a mudslide, state broadcaster CCTV reported.
The accident occurred midmorning as the train was entering a tunnel in the inland southern province of Guizhou. It had been traveling on a regular route to the coastal business center of Guangzhou.
Those injured were in stable condition and the other 136 people aboard the train were evacuated safely, CCTV said."

The casualties are official figures and not to be trusted , just like the Chinese hsr.
Don't Chinese trains have any safety measures ?
First 40 died , officially, and 200 were injured in a hsr crash , and now this ?
Oh very sad indeed. Hope the injured recover ASAP.

Do you know mudslides are not predictable?

They are not predictable only in China..if this was anywhere on the planet the Chinese here would be quickly screaming this was engineering incompetence.

I'm not saying flying is safer than trains but certainly the infrastucture requirements and maintenance are far less. Plus less noise pollution from high flying aircraft. Although the low flying aircraft are a problem as where I am low flying helicopters are common.

Mudslides are not predictable only in China? are you sure about this?

How many of those mudslides US successfully predicted?

You are misinterpreting my words. If this landslide/mudslide happened in any other country the Chinese here on PDF would be quickly blaming the "incompetent engineers" who built the track for not putting in enough safety measures ..since things like this don't happen in China.

Where and when, can you provide a link we did it or this is just pure your fantasy?

There's a whole Chinese troll thread on it

There a whole thread on it
Where did we blame US for natural disasters?

the Japanese have some of the worst environmental incidents but they have mitigated the risks by incorporating technical measures.
Like to prevent derailing during earthquakes, they incorporated a 3rd rail. The wheels cant leave the track and are caught in the 3rd rail during a similar event.
In landslide prone areas and seasons, its common to have nets on the adjoing areas , which prevent ingress of rocks, etc.
Also some railways have a track clearance engine , which inspects the tracks before a passenger train plies.
The Chinese are high iq and should think of solutions or they should consult IR , as we have very treacherous terrain in the konkan railways, northern states and some eastern states.
