naval officers and men marched to the resident high-speed rail travel.

Recently, the United States, Jamestown Foundation, “China Presentation, “published an article, according to the PLA General Logistics Department of Military Transportation Ministry, China currently has more than 1,000 railway stations with a military transport facilities, thus building up a complete network of rail security, and enhance the PLA’s strategic projection capacity. Moreover, China is still building its railway infrastructure extends to the surrounding areas, it would be the United States and Western countries have significant interests in the region’s military and strategic influence. WASHINGTON this article, only for reference.

With China’s rise on the international stage, China’s military power to achieve a great improvement. Beijing increasingly ambitious aspirations, China’s leaders has been requested to promote more actively protect their own interests. Currently, these requirements made by analyst has put a spotlight on the PLA to modernize its forces to defend their own vast borders capacity. For example, following the April 2010, the crisis in Kyrgyzstan – Kyrgyz opposition through violent protests forced the government to step down, the Chinese Research Institute of Modern International Relations Chen Xiangyang has proposed implementation of the “Neighbors” strategy to protect China the surrounding area. This proposal of his senior leaders of the Chinese army’s response, and mentioned the possibility of penetration of the Central Asian region. January 2010, Hong Kong “Panorama” magazine had carried an article saying, in the output of railway technology, China from a strategic point of view, the railway and its military significance, because they can increase China’s force projection capability.

In fact, under this strategic vision, November 17, 2010, the PLA at the end of the Shanghai World Expo security mission, they first take the high-speed rail from Shanghai to Nanjing in Nanjing to return to their barracks. In response, some Chinese military analysts said that the PLA high-speed rail operations in the non-war military troops and light equipment in the projection of the ideal way.

present, China has built a railway to Tibet, Nepal, leading to the railway under construction, but also plans to build access to Laos, Singapore, Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand and Myanmar, high-speed railway. November 5, 2010, Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki announced that Iran, Afghanistan and Tajikistan have agreed to cooperate with China to jointly build a railway from China to Iran, the railway began in China, the Xinjiang Autonomous Region, through Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan and finally to Iran. So, China seems to be long-term plans to connect the west of Iraq, Syria, Turkey, and finally to Europe. The program of the United Nations launched the “Trans-Asian Railway Network” (TAR) project-based, designed for the transportation hub of the Middle East, China and Europe will be connected together.

Given China’s high-speed rail’s speed reached 486.1 km/h (302 miles/hour), and the PLA is on the railway as a means of force projection for the PLA Air Force, and providing logistical support, in order to actively enhance their long-range combat capability, so this revival of the Silk Road through the new “Orient Express”, will be on the United States and Western countries have significant interests in the region’s military and strategic influence.

Iron Silk Road, the militarization of colors

military needs is part of China’s railway development, the PLA is actively involved in the design and planning high-speed railway in China’s important reasons. For example, the Chengdu Railway Bureau has 14 officers in the main site in leadership positions in key sectors, responsible for coordination of railway planning, design, construction, schedule and track program implementation. In addition, Shenyang Railway Bureau and the PLA also established a local military transportation management system, Shenyang is an important strategic location, close to South Korea, Mongolia and the Yellow Sea. According to the PLA General Logistics Department revealed that China currently has more than 1,000 railway station equipped with a military transport facilities, thus establishing a complete network of rail security, and enhance the PLA’s strategic projection capabilities.

2009, the PLA General Logistics Department and Chinese Ministry of Railways cooperation, the Chinese railway equipment, more than 20 more than 100 sets of military facilities, it has a military transport capacity. In the same year, the Beijing government has also invested a lot of money, for some materials, railway stations and military platforms for loading and unloading, equipment, military transport facilities. This investment is designed to meet the PLA’s military needs to carry out such as “Peace Mission -2010″ joint anti-terrorism military exercises such action. In addition, the PLA General Logistics Department is also actively involved in the whole railway is currently the construction process (from design to completion.) For example, in the building from Kunming to Nanning railway, in order to meet the mobility requirements of the PLA, the Chinese Ministry of Railways adjusted some sections of the design, and 12.4 km railway line extended to the construction cost increase from 15.5 billion yuan ( 2.3266 billion U.S. dollars).

At the same time, some analysts believe that China’s railway development projects around the militarization of the role.

Central Asia, Southeast Asia and South Asia

analysts Se Luoye Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies at King Constantine said that if a serious conflict in the future threaten China’s security or strategic interests of the case, then by the rapid development of China’s participation in road and rail infrastructure in Central Asia, the PLA may be used to carry out action plans. And this has been in the “Peace Mission -2010″ joint anti-terrorism military exercise has been confirmed – that time, China’s use of the railway will transport its troops to Kazakhstan.

In addition, such as Vietnam and India and other countries, there are also concerns. For this reason, Vietnam has been refused by China’s high-speed rail technology (cost of 325 billion U.S. dollars), instead of using the higher cost of Japan’s Shinkansen technology (cost 550 billion). Moreover, the June 19, 2010, the Vietnamese National Assembly to vote against China’s high-speed rail plan. According to “Asia Week” said, some Vietnamese politicians rail against the adoption of China’s high technology, it is because they worry that China may be transported by rail to the PLA forces.

in the Tibet Autonomous Region, in 2006 the opening of the high-altitude Qinghai-Tibet Railway is the People’s Liberation Army Air Force’s supply lines to increase their mobility. August 3, 2010, “Liberation Army Daily” reported that a fully loaded train the Air Force an important war material by the railway to Tibet. China is rapidly upgrading railways and airports in Tibet, there are four operating the airport, another airport under construction. If the Sino-Indian relations continue to deteriorate to the edge of military conflict, then travel through the Mountain People’s Liberation Army rapid deployment of the railway to the area. In fact, for decades, rail and highway construction is China’s “Himalaya” strategy – early in the People’s Liberation Army prepared to regain Tibet, Mao Zedong proposed “through road ahead.”

Iran (China – Iran) railway

2010 年 10 months, China, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan and Iran, Minister of Transport in Tajikistan Dushanbe entered into an agreement to begin building the railway and Iraq. The railway began in China, Xinjiang, through Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Afghanistan until the Iranian, and then split into two, the south line to the Gulf, to the West via Turkey into Europe. Earlier, China and Iran signed a 20 billion deal, the Ministry of Construction of the railway system in Boise, the system will continue westward into Iraq, and finally with Syria, Turkey and the Mediterranean countries connected.

Turkey (China – Turkey) railway

the same in October 2010, to upgrade China-Turkmenistan relations as “strategic partnership” between the two countries signed agreement from Turkey to build high-speed railway in China to enhance bilateral military relations, and China (to replace Israel and the U.S.) for the “Anatolian Eagle” routine NATO air combat exercise. China increased by 300 billion dollars to build a 7,000 km cross-high-speed rail in Turkey, will also be upgrading the railway connecting Turkey and Pakistan, planning a Lake Van to Pakistan along the railway. In addition, China together with Bulgaria and Turkey were also invited to join the Eurasian high-speed railway project. China has also provided a large number of construction loans, in exchange for using the Bulgarian rivers, seaports and airports, as the route to the transport hub in Western Europe.

view of the strategic partnership between Turkey and the expected future military exercises, China’s railway to improve the PLA’s power projection and in the Middle East and the wider Black Sea region exists. In addition to October 2010, “Anatolian Eagle” exercises in the Black Sea during the Chinese fighter over the area, the early November, the Chinese special operations forces in Turkey commandos carried out a joint exercise schools. People’s Liberation Army Air Force in Iran to Turkey to refuel, the future, high-speed rail can be logistical support and transport of war materials.

and Iran (China – Iraq) Railway

China is building a railway across the Eurasian continent, but the security situation and U.S. and NATO forces a large number of troops in Iraq and Afghanistan there are still large sections without road connections. However, after the U.S. withdrawal, China will promote the United Nations took over peacekeeping operations, the PLA deployed to protect China’s energy and strategic interests. China copper mine in Afghanistan and Iraq Aynak various oil and gas fields has invested 3.4 billion. China could also use the Shanghai Cooperation Organization to strengthen regional cooperation and building through Afghanistan to Iran, Iraq, the final connection of the railway. China and Iran has no intention to join the Western-led activities, such as TRACECA (also known as the “New Silk Road”). On the contrary, the two countries want to build their own projects, or sanctions are not limited to Western interests.

PLA is the railway as a means of force projection for the PLA Air Force, and providing logistical support, in order to actively enhance its long-range combat capabilities, so this revival of the Silk Road through the new “Orient Express”, will be of the United States and Western countries have significant interests in the region’s military and strategic influence.

“Orient Express” delivery “China effect”

China Construction across Asia and the Middle East high-speed rail project plan has a strategic importance. The railway will be poorer and more prosperous region in areas linked to the economic downturn, can provide a large number of jobs, making China’s military and security forces to better the power projection abroad. Although the air transport faster, but only less staff and less equipment, and rail transport soldiers and is an important way of heavy equipment, maintenance supplies easier.

as China’s economy and energy portfolio in the Middle East continue to increase, the future conditions of the PLA may deploy troops through the High Speed ??Rail, the non-war military action to protect strategic interests. In fact, in January 2011 there were rumors that the Chinese People’s Liberation Army has deployed troops to the northeastern part of North Korea Rajin – Pioneer Special Economic Zone, “to protect China’s investment in port facilities.” Does this mean the future of Afghanistan, Iraq and other parts of China’s interests, a similar situation occurs, for the future of the PLA, “Orient Express”, this is still a mystery. Totally reasonable...
Infrastructure is the base of every country
So now it's illegal too upgrade your infrastructure, because it may be used for military purposes!?
That's some BS!!

What's next duel use water treatment facilities and duel use cell towers, because people in the military drink water and use cellphones?

.
The West should just suck it up. China is in its rights to do so.

China's 'super-speed' train hits 500 km/h我国正研制时速500公里超级高铁
高铁, hits, train, 时速, China
China aims to lead the world in high-speed railway construction, according to the Ministry of Railways, and has plans to develop a "super-speed" train with a speed of up to 500 km per hour.

He Huawu, the ministry's chief engineer, told a railway technology forum on Monday in the Hubei provincial capital of Wuhan, that the super-speed technology is expected to allow trains to run at a speed of between 400 and 500 km per hour.

Xinhua News Agency quoted He as saying that the technology is already in the final phase of development.

The country already has 7,055 km of high-speed railways in service, giving it the world's longest and fastest high-speed service. It also has the most comprehensive technology and wants to extend that network to 13,000 km by 2012, according to the ministry.

Just two weeks ago, on Sept 28, one of the country's trains set a new speed record on an operating rail line - the Shanghai-Hangzhou line - hitting a speed of 416.6 km per hour .

The ministry's chief engineer did not say exactly when that 500-km/h train would roll out of the yards or which rail line it would be put on, and in fact some experts are speculating that the research is unlikely to be carried out for commercial purposes.

Wang Mengshu, a Chinese Academy of Engineering member and tunnel expert, said on Tuesday that the research is more likely to be simply for technological purposes because putting 500-km/h trains into real use is not cost-effective.

For one thing, a 500-km/h train places much greater demand on the tracks and tunnels and would involve immense construction costs.

"But research on a 500-km/h train could help to demonstrate China's advantage in high-speed railways, showing, for example, that the wheel/rail technology is good enough so there's no need for maglev lines," he elaborated.

Previously, in April 2007, France's TGV (train a grande vitesse), or "high-speed train", in trials intended to extend the limits of high speed technology, did a test run and set a record of 574.8 km/h, on a special test line, not a regular line.

Yang Hao, a Beijing Jiaotong University professor, has already warned that China shouldn't rush to put 500-km/h trains to commercial use because there are unimaginable problems that will keep cropping up with the speed.

"Just doing a couple of experiments is far from enough to prove the viability of the technology for commercial use," he cautioned.

Not to be elbowed aside, Chinese netizens have expressed support for the new technology research on sina.com, a major news portal.

That's not to say that there aren't those voicing concerns about safety. Cai Tianyi, who often commutes between Beijing and Tianjin on high-speed trains, said China only has a few years of experience in high-speed train manufacturing: "Why do we have to take the lead in this industry in such a hurried way, where we might be sacrificing safety?"

But He, the engineer, faced up to those doubts about safety at a Jiaotong University forum on transportation, on Saturday, asserting that "China's high-speed railways can stand up to rigorous safety testing."
