Assad occupied Lebanon for 20 years - from 1975-2005. Israel occupied only for 1 year 1982-1983.

No country in the world can be successful with terrorist militias inside. Lebanon was considered a Switzerland of Middle East in 1950-es and 1960-es. But then then militias came (first PLO, then Amal, then Hisbalshaytan) and Lebanon turned into a trash hole of Middle East.
