Atlético de Kolkata's opponents tonight, Mumbai City FC, are next up to be presented to the crowd, with Ranbir Kapoor and Freddie Ljungberg walking out. A huge cheer goes up for a different Mumbaikar, India's legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, walks out in his capacity as Kerala Blasters FC co-owner, along with his marquee player-manager David James!
Each owner/representative and player comes out to a rousing ovation. After Kolkata, Delhi Dynamos FC are next up, with actress Parineeti Chopra and legendary Italian Alessandro Del Piero! NorthEast United FC co-owner John Abraham and manager Ricki Herbert are next, followed by FC Goa's co-owner Dattaraj Salgaocar and Arsenal legend Robert Pires. Abhishek Bachchan and star signing Elano come out next, representing Chennaiyin FC, and FC Pune City's newly-announced co-owner Hrithik Roshan follows with ex-Juventus star David Trezeguet.
The cheers from the crowd continue to pour in, as each club's owner/representative comes out with the team's marquee player, starting of course with the 'Prince of Kolkata', Sourav Ganguly, flanked by his star recruit Luis Garcia.
Priyanka Chopra thrills the crowd with dances to some of her hit songs, but draws the biggest cheers for her words afterwards: "Kolkata doesn't love football. Kolkata EATS football, DRINKS football, BREATHES football!
Manipuri dhol players and dancers put on a dazzling performance, before making way for tonight's star performer - Priyanka Chopra!
The crowd is then treated to a video montage of India's footballing history, including highlights from the 1948 London Olympics, which was the national team's first outing.
Praful Patel comes next, and delightedly says "This is the day we've all been waiting for!". The AIFF president is certain that the league will take Indian football to a new level.
