- my government are not actively forcing anyone out. So far, the death toll is about the same as the LA riots. Propaganda mouthpieces like that Asad71 will try to claim there is a genocide but there is no evidence of anything like it.

- the world will not say anything about it because we haven't really done anything wrong. Sectarian violence is sectarian violence. What is written in our constitution is what it is. No one is being put on a death march. Infact, the only voice I hear is the UNHCR telling BD to open its borders.

Wow, burmese people are real bone head.. Whatever UNHCR tells Bangladesh will ultimately go back to your court. Yes BD as a responsible member of international community should allow any refugee form Burma or any other country. But that does not mean UNHCR are asking BD to help myanmar for its endeavor in ethnic cleansing. BD already explained its position as it became a Myanmar practice to push its citizen to BD and not willing to take them back ..

What the current government wants is for the world to pressure Myanmar on the issue. But, I think it is premature and potentially sends the wrong signal to Myanmar.

The most important thing I think is for this issue to be addressed effectively. But nothing can happen because of this government coupled with Dipu Moni's inexperience.

Saving human life is much more important. The Govts can keep playing politics (inside UN and outside) but lives must be saved. I hope Bangladeshi Govt changes its decision. You can always document these people and send them back when situation is normal in Myanmar.

I do not dispute with UNHCR's commitments.

The Bangladesh government's response on the issue is regrettable, perhaps stupid.

No he thinks UNHCR is asking BD to accommodate Rohingiyas so that Myanmar will be gifted with Rohingiya free country.... LOL

We've been hosting Rohingyas ever since 1978.

We thought that after Aung Saan Suu Kyi is released, and start the democracy process, the issue will be solved. Even now, we aren't seeing any signs of progress.

Ironically, her father, Gen. Aung San agreed with giving them citizenship in exchange for support. That was before he was assassinated.

And frankly, our patience is running thin over the Burmese.

Bangladesh never made Myanamr as its colony and Rohingiyas were never your master. Rich white guys from those country gone back to Britain and the numbers are few. We already absorbed 1/2 a million of your people. Imagine 1/2 a million people gone to Britain and you would had seen another WWIII

i respect her; maybe i dont have too much info.

i dont think many people have much info on Myanmar/Burma - it's too small of a country and it's quite irrelevant to world affairs (maybe that's not always a bad thing)

i would EXPECT that someone receiving as much publicity as she is -- she would at least call for calm and restraint and stop this state-sponsored campaign against Muslims of Burma

otherwise - Bangla Desh should take the refugees and the UN & OIC should get involved and re-imburse Banga Desh for housing those people.
