Helicopters Fire on Rohingya Refugees

The shooting took place after Bangladesh border guards turned back six boats of refugees as they tried to enter the country from neighbouring Burma across the river Naf to Teknaf town in the southernmost part of mainland Bangladesh, the witnesses told RFA.

If this is the fact, BD govt. is completely liable for the loss of lives. They don't have any right to push back an oppressed flotilla to the mouth of shark. Wish our ministers and some Bangladeshi who supported the push back once in their rainy days encounter same scenario.

Bangladeshi forces should stop firing on Rohingyas and pushing them back in sea.. They are forcing little kids to starve to death.. Sick!

And just why would we want to do that?

I know we are rejecting most of the refugees (all politics), but we do so in a humane manner, such as giving them food, and fuel. I knew of one incident when the Thais simply kicked them out with no food or water!

See, accepting or rejecting the refugees is kind of an ethical dilemma. We have limited resources, and there are already tens and thousands of Rohingyas since 1978. If we reject them, we leave them to the mercy of BoB (it's rainy season) and the devils.

But for humanity's sake, I condemn this government of their decisions. And their reasons stated were lame. They even hand over ULFA agents to you even though we don't have a formal extradition treaty with India.

The treatment of the Rohingyas by NaSaKa is just legendary!

For real Shahara Khatun the Burmese might mistake identifying her as a Rohingya, possibly she would be identified as an African .

I don't think it was Bangladeshi helicopter, most probably Burmese helicopter.

That's no way Bangladeshi helicopter, our forces are bound to stand idle for the coward decision of our stupid govt. but they will never shoot unarmed people, I have the faith on them. If they are pressed by govt. to do so, they will revolt back against govt.

Read a story in Pakistani papers(Dawn) as how Indian Muslims had to shout slogans against jinnah......, Pak Punjabis were not ready to give away the lands and wealth they had looted from fleeing Hindus to their fellow Muslim who had come from India.

What makes Indians so different from Pakistanis and Bangladeshi is ISLAM. Such incidents only renforces my view about Islam. Not ready to give asylum to few of yr own, killing and raping that to in millions(war of 71). I feel Islam is real reason for such chaos.

No international pressure. Its our BD embassy proactively in Kolkata arranged their repatriation in Bangladesh.

We given shelter to 1/2 a million already.
