Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, head of Hizb-e-Islami party of Afghanistan, in his speech on Thursday said he has a number of demands which are not mentioned in the peace agreement with Afghan government.

Releasing Taliban's key prisoners and accepting a number of Taliban's demands without any condition are part of Hekmatyar's requests from the National Unity Government (NUG).

"I ask Mr. President [Ashraf Ghani] to prove his honesty and talk with the Taliban and release their prisoners without any condition," Hekmatyar said.

"Taliban should come to the table of negotiations and should share their legitimate demands and we will support them," Hekmatyar said.

Meanwhile, a number of MPs reacted to the demands made by Hekmatyar.

"Government has already released a number of prisoners who then fought against the security forces. The Constitution has cleared how to deal with the prisoners," said Fawzia Koofi, an MP from Badakhshan.

"Releasing Taliban's prisoners will increase clashes in the country," said Daud Kalakani, an MP.

"If Hekmatyar increases his demands, then questions will arise. Today's agreement should be based on the future needs of Afghanistan," Moin Marastyal, a political analyst said.
