we are no where close to equator.
don't you think that more the gravity pull the greater the height.
Strong gravity will pull you DOWN ... you stand during major portions of day so there is always constant push downwards on your body...
Its basically a constant push on your whole body if you happen to live in places in earth upper equator you will have taller height , over generation you will see increase in height 1 cm etc or so in combination with good diet - thats why when you look at places like Norwary , Canada, US , Russia etc and Upper chinese locations you find ppl have taller heights
My own personal example my brother has full 2 inch height advantage over mine only difference is he grew up in his growing years in upper equator regions of earth
We are both taller then our father due to good nutrition but he had added plus
Its a small increase of 2 inch over a generation , but his kids will likely be taller then him in next cycle perhaps taller then 6 feet
Of course you can decide to also hang yourself form door all you want
But you can make some gain with proper diet and nutrition
Major determining factor in your diet is your leg bones , and backbone and your posture is important
In US , Europe they have growth harmones , in Japan they use such items in food products and its google searchable (japan's usage of growth harmones)
Because I remember stereo types in past that Japanese are short people but in reality when I met Japanese they were average height like any other all average height
