Height growth exercise?

my father's height is about the same as mine but my mother is quite shorter than me.
what's your current height.

my current height is 5ft8inches.

i have nt checked it after sep..i remember it was 5feet 6-7inches in dec 2009.

When I was 16, I was 5' 4" (162 cm) and weighed 63 kilos. 4 years later, I was 6' 3" (190 cm). When I was 18, I broke a bone, and the doctor took X-rays, which revealed that my bones had not fused yet.

Many males (unlike females) continue to grow right up to their 20's. I don't know if there are exercises that can force you to grow, but there might be. I think the most important thing for you would be excellent nutrition, more than anything else.

The OP should consult an endocrinologist to exclude any major hormonal issues and see if growth hormone therapy is a suitable option for him/her at this relatively late stage, altought I am doubtful.

height is natural phenomenon. it has more to do with genes we carry from our parents. in some families u will find all of members with short ht. & in some all are tall. exercise can help but it will gain one only 1-2 inch.

1. Will my height increase? if yes then how much will I gain in 6-7 months if I exercise at the same pace.
2. Should I do anything else as well.

That is not going to help. You stop growing when you are 25. You still have 7 years to go.

You height is genetically determined. Its fixed. But hanging exercises or pull-ups may give you a couple of inches (these stretch the ligaments and tendons holding the vertebral column). I did that for a few months and gained an inch - 5'10 now! 5'5 is not a bad height, btw.

Dont worry much about your height, pack in attitude backed up with sound knowledge!

My personal Opinion is , and you can quote me on major news outlets if you like for a fee


1 . Height is determined by Genes yes some what true
but it also determines on your diet what you eat or consume

2. Gravity effects height

Exhibit A:

Argentina , prior to their economic problems used to field soccer players which were considerably taller in hight. But after their economic problems , and raise in poverty the soccer players of recent decade coming from Argentina are shorter

e.g Messi , Tavez , infact 80% of their players are shorter

View 1978 world cup footage in Argentina you will find their average height was GREATER ... tall players with poverty and lack of nutrition the average height started to decrease in argentina

Now when you compare the Argentinians to Brazilians they enjoy taller heights in average just my own observation as they are economically doing well.


2 .Gravity:

Now I observed the phenominon why people whose kids are rasied in UK or US or Canada tend to be taller on average by almost 1-2 inches then people who lived in Pakistan

Well simple gravitational differences.

Gravity is 9.8 m/s2

But its not even all place in world as world is not a perfect circle !!

So on some locations (Equator) is stronger then places lets say to the North where its effects are weker 9.7 something...as per latest research data it varies across the globe

So the people living in upper equator regions tend to be taller becasue they experience , less gravitational pull on daily basis so during their groth years

14-21 years , they tend to grow a bit taller then kids lets say in Pakistan which is sorta located close to equator

But also , the diet is important factor

a) Pakistani Diet has no Cheese
b) Pakistani Diet has no Heavy Dairy products vital for bone and
growth, tea and buscuits don't help with your growth.
c) The genes yes play a important role .. but also poor diet also
prevent the height of children to be shorter.


175 cm is average height

In Japan , the gov has used growth harmones in all products geared towards children to help them get proper nurition and help increase average heights in Japan

Japanese improved their average heights from 155-160cm post world war 2 loss to 175-177 cm now average Japanese children are also taller then this height more common if you follow their youth sports teams

So deith with proper nurition and also earth's gravitation and your location on earth and your parent's gene all play a role

Strong gravity will pull you DOWN ... you stand during major portions of day so there is always constant push downwards on your body...

Its basically a constant push on your whole body if you happen to live in places in earth upper equator you will have taller height , over generation you will see increase in height 1 cm etc or so in combination with good diet - thats why when you look at places like Norwary , Canada, US , Russia etc and Upper chinese locations you find ppl have taller heights

My own personal example my brother has full 2 inch height advantage over mine only difference is he grew up in his growing years in upper equator regions of earth :pop:

We are both taller then our father due to good nutrition but he had added plus

Its a small increase of 2 inch over a generation , but his kids will likely be taller then him in next cycle perhaps taller then 6 feet

Of course you can decide to also hang yourself form door all you want :P

But you can make some gain with proper diet and nutrition

Major determining factor in your diet is your leg bones , and backbone and your posture is important

In US , Europe they have growth harmones , in Japan they use such items in food products and its google searchable (japan's usage of growth harmones)

Because I remember stereo types in past that Japanese are short people but in reality when I met Japanese they were average height like any other all average height

And I just confirmed my statment on google map


Canada - UK - RUSSIA - UZBAKISTAN - US - Upper China - Upper Europe are all above the eqautor zone by some distance

All exist in upper areas of world So is the case with Australia (lower half)

Places like Mexico - Saudia - Pakistan - Egypt- India - Japan are all a bit close to equator experince max gravity but they also enjoy lost of sun and beatiful sunsets and clear blue skies you gain some you lose some

If we were to live on lets say a more massive planet with Greater Gravity we all be midgets - :azn: example on Jupitor we would not be more then 1 meter tall (we can't even stand on that planet)

If you lived on moon during your growth years you might have a tall height like basket ball player (but you would have muscle/ligamints issues as they would not develop well) to handle weight when you came back to earth

As VCheng suggested, you could go see an endocrinologist to see if you still have time to grow. Maybe he could put you on growth hormone therapy, but you need to be aware of the risks. Your skin could become course, your hands larger instead of your torso etc.

If you ask me, height is only a state of mind.
