What's new

Have you ever read "Imran series"

ibn e safi was the best, mazhar kaleem's novels have turned out to be really boring and repetitive. no originality at all(well that is to be expected if one is stealing others characters).

Mazhar kaleem is not the only one who has stolen Ibne Saffi's characters but there are perhaps dozen other writers too. I think fresh young writers of imran series are missing these days, Mazhar kaleem has got old and has lost that exuberance of youthfulness of imran series characters, his portrayal of Imran is no more that of a funny character that was used to be the signature of his novels in 80s and 90s. Young fresh capable writers are need of the hour.

I consider imran series as cultural heritage of pakistan's jasoosi literature, in my view Ibne Saffi should be awarded by government of pakistan for giving such successful piece of jasoosi fiction series that is running since more than 50 years and our imran is still young and ready under the orders of X2-Black zero (sometimes acting himself X2) to take on the enemies of Pakasia especially coming from Rajasia or Akremia :smokin:

I still remember that on the back of every Imran Series book there was the picture of the writer with the caption 'Mazhar Kaleem M.A.' And I remember very well that I once read the whole novel in the washroom because everyone was pissed off in home due to my addiction to Imran Series...I always admired the humor by the protagonist in Imran Series besides it's plot ...Some very good action movies can be based on these series ...How many of you remember Farhad Ali Tamoor ?

35 years of continuous telepathic Farhad ali taimoor endeavours. It became repetitive and bored in 2000's. Good thing they ended it.

I have been crazy about Imran Series back in my teens. That was approx 20 years ago. Until 20 years of age, i have follwed every Imran Series novel diligently, but after that ... well, lets just say "life" happened.

My favorite writer of Imran Series was "Mazhar Kaleem". I still remember those golden days of espionage, and am actually sad that i couldn't find out about the after-math of "Black Thunder" (a deadly Secret Organization, Imran, Julia, Safdar (his teammates) were up against). I am also sad that i couldn't read more of "Imran vs Julia" :p

Good ol' days.
The best thing abt Imran Series were that they were not inspired or even minor copied by James Bond Characters and other things which were also popular back in those days. I think somebody need to make some drama series if not films over them. Our newer generations must know abt the great work our people have done on their own.

Who was he? Please tell me in detail.

It was a character from a series published in Suspense digest. The concept was more like inception where Farhad Ali Taimur and others had the powers to read minds. Wondering if inception took inspiration from that novel :p:

Life was incomplete without Imran Series I guess Mazhar Kaleem is the best Imran series writer.
Specially the winter holidays in Ramadan were very hard to pass without Imarn series  I really hope we see some animated series around this character. Some of the novels had amazing plots and story.
