First, Many thanks for putting me and my world cup hero in the same bracket. Secondly, what JH did to PTI on that August day not me but history will remember him as "champion of democracy" in Pakistan.
Ever heard of Ghulam Mustsafa Khar, the
founding member of PPP and former Sher Punjab? He used to call Bhutto 'Daddy' and was appointed as the Chief Minister of Punjab during Bhutto's time. Later in 1974 he had developed differences with Bhutto and elected to went his own way. Bhutto trashed him big time and he (Khar) lost against a nominal PPP worker in the bi-Election. Political pundits (like the ones you listen or read to) professed that history will remember Khar for his stand on principals and as a champion of democracy etc. What happened? History threw him into the trash bin. This is Pakistan my friend, here you are known and recognized by the party and her leader and not by yourself. Hashmi was a
student leader, he remained one throughout his life and did nothing but agitationary politics and history will remember him as such, nothing less, nothing more. You got to study the history of politics in Pakistan, its players, and how and in which condition they ended up.
This is Khar with Bhutto in late 60s/early 70s
dekho mujhay jo deeda e ibrat nigah ho - This is same Khar in 2014...
Khar, former Sher Punjab (not artificial Shers like Nawaz and Shahbaz) would have never thought that one day he will be standing behind Tahir ul Qadri. This is how history has remembered him and Hashmi wont end up differently.
