Has Pakistan navy or Iraq navy ordered Iran to build them new submarines ?

Look at this new hull. Looks like something came out of junkyard. I think our daryae sindh macheraas can build a better submarine than this junk.

Submarines are not suppose to win a beauty competition. If we had to judge them based on such juvenile parameters, then even many larger submarines could be questioned.

My thoughts.

"Midget" sized submarines are a very good option for our friends. Iran has midget sized submarines called Ghadir, but I think something larger, like the new Iranian submarine called Fateh will suit Pakistan needs nicely.

Fateh submarine has a displacement of 600 tons, designed for the Persian Gulf and sea of Oman.

Next generation of these submarines will be a larger and utilise AIP.

Fateh is "equipped with sonars, electric drive, combined battle management, surface-to-surface guided missile guidance, torpedo guidance, electronic and telecommunication warfare, secure and integrated telecommunication systems etc. Fateh submarine has speed of 11 knots (20.35 km/h) and is capable of travelling submerged at 14 knots (25.9 km/h). The submarine is armed with four 533-mm torpedoes. It can carry eight sea mines and two reserve torpedoes." The submarine can also fire cruise missiles. This submarine actually has 11 different sonar systems! For it's size, it is extremely well equipped sensor wise and packs a nasty bite!

I am not saying Pakistan needs to go for this specific Iranian submarine, but I think people generally write off smaller sized submarines and focus more on giant, nuclear powered systems. These smaller submarines are a nightmare even for the most advanced navies. A dozen or so of these submarines will give the enemies of Pakistan sleepless nights. I am not sure if this new is related to Pakistan however, it could easily be another nation such as Iraq, Syria, Venezuela etc. Iran could design a submarine in these classes for our friendly nations.

Pakistan is building 8 submarines with China that are equipped to launch 700+ km cruise missiles along with building many smaller X-craft Midget submarines.

Though Irans submarines are potent they fit the naval assymetrical strategy of Iran really well whereby Pakistan strategy is to simply keep itself from being blockaded by the Indian navy. Therefore Pakistans submarines have to be underwater for far more day and also be equipped with many long range missiles to keep Indian ships far away.

Lastly a key point in the article is that the chinese submarines and X-craft subs are being built at Karachi Shipyards, but then why would the PN also build a Submarine Rebuild Complex at Omara? Seems that PN is gearing up to also produce Nuclear Powered Submarines.

This submarine is much better that the first one posted by OP, so I dont know why the OP posted the midget sub....I think this kind of submarine that will be exported to unspecified country. How about Bangladesh ???

The submarine I posted above is also capable of firing longe range systems, for example, the 1000km range anti-ship missile Iran has called "Muhandes". But I certainly agree with you that China is Pakistan's best option in this field. They have an increasingly more potent submarine force and undoubtedly Pakistan has the potential to develop a potent submarine force with their help.

The submarine posted by the OP is the midget submarine Ghadir, I think he just used it as a quick stock photo. Ghadir has its own uses in the Persian Gulf but it's not on the same level as Fateh. In terms of who this unspecified country is, Iraq, Syria or Venezuela is on the top of my list.

either Pakistan or Iraq or Venezuela is negotiating with Iran to built them new submarines , i don't think its Iraq or any Arab state because they are not that independent to go against US sanctions but Pakistan and Venezuela have the money and the power to do so, so my question is what do you guys think is it Pakistan navy ?





General Rastegari said that Iran is capable of mass-producing and exporting Qadir submarines, adding, "Some of the friendly states are in negotiations with us to design submarines for them as well."

He said that a unique periscope has also been mounted on Qadir submarine, noting that a number of industrial countries have demanded to purchase this periscope and optical system from Iran.

I think the main question is why would Pakistan buy an Iranian submarine when it has the option of going for Western or Chinese? Is there any technological or financial gain to be had? Do the Iranians posses some newer technology or an existing technology but a cheaper rate than say the Chinese?

People Pakistan is not that desperate to ask Iran to build submarines for it. For Midget submarines if we decide to go for them. Most likely candidate is Italy then it would be China and on third it would be Russia.

Iran is a friendly country , however we need to improve trade , defense and cultural ties. Can't see any country better than Iran in the region towards Pakistan other than China. Arab dollars is coming at a price and we need to have a long term disengagement plan with these unelected monarchs. Pakistan should focus on Turkey, Russia, Iran, Pakistan and China group and create a Trans Asia Economic corridor.

Oil's value is slowly waning as alternate energy supplies form a significant portion of energy generation. The price of Crude oil will go down and stay down and many oil production sites and refineries will close down. As a consequence there will be regime changes and widespread conflict in the region as colonial boundaries are redrawn as per tribal and race lineages due to economic woes.
