The other factor is the shocking disunity amongst Indians that they have displayed. Right from the moment when Advani and MMS couldn't come to Mumbai together to all the infighting, resignations, total bickering that is going on, all are very unexpected features being seen from India. They have kept this illusion (if not a facade) of unity.

People enmasse have disowned politicians in India. I'd say you're trying to see the divide in India's parliamentarians which, actually, has nothing to do with what is going on in the real India.

Till now, I have seen and noticed a lot of solidarity, and unity amongst the REAL people who are standing shoulder to shoulder in this act of war irrespective of their religion or beliefs.

It has just started, and this could go on to be a significant factor in the days to come, and the very idea of India.

If at this moment, the divisive, notorious factors take over and plunge country into deeper internal peril, I (and am sure many others) would start giving up all their hopes on India.

People have to face it as it is in their face and make their independent, conscious decision on how they have to act now. And everyone can find a cohesive wave of emotions and their feelings which binds all Indians into one. That would be a start of a resurgent, cleaner, stronger India.

And if in this hour they choose to be guided by those internal divisive elements who thrive on bloodshed and anarchy, who are waiting to exploit this moment - then India is DOOMED. And it'd probably deserve to go down.

excellent dig. i agree 100%, modern media amplifies the impact of terrorist attacks, which is an ancient tactic. jingoism has no place in honest coverage of them.

it is the same media i guess who blamed pakistan for the samjhota express blast on the eve of the incident, and again in mumbai, than the conversation of that terrorists who claimed to be from hyderabad deccan your anchor asked him several times that whether from hyderabad from pakistan or india.

Yeah ,I saw that conversation on youtube with the terrorist who was speaking in Punjabi tone.I have been to Hyderabad off course India one lol and they don't speak in Punjabi tone .

Anyway ,It doesn't matter much to me now as we have already lost our citizen's .

If you guys think this will lead to a war ,No ,but if few more 26/11 occur frequently ,then it will definitely lead to a war of some kind .I'm not in favor of war anyway it again leads to loss of life and ldamage which we can't even think .

If you guys here think ,India will be a push over ,then you all are wrong and if guys in India think Pakistan will be a push over,then again it is not possible and I know whosoever will be losing,will definitely use Nuclear weapon ,which in turn will give license to other country to use their nuclear weapon,then you can think .

If you sort out the kashmir issue and stop attacks on the christians and muslims and i can assure you there will be peace........but until then it will just carry on the way it has for the past decades

Even if the indians sort the kashmir problem with pakistan and come to some sort of compromise the internal problems of india...muslim christian being attacked will still keep the problem of state/militant terrorism going.
And the end result will be....blame pakistan.
