'Harassment' drives Afghan refugees from Pakistan

Listen hindu, Afghans are literally living in stone ages, they are indeed not prepared for it. You hindus call yourselves friends of afghans, why dont your country offer them refuge?............
Calm down dont be so rash about them. I think what is happening to afghans in Pakistan is Directly related to Afghan Sentiments about Pakistan and Pakistani People and their reported covert Support for Anti State Elements of Pakistan.

About preparation of Afghanistan then Afghans have yet to form a Functioning State so what do we expect about their lives in Afghanistan. He was right about lack of preparation because USA had expend Hundreds of Billions in Afghanistan since last 13 years and if they couldnt able to make a functioning State by that then you can expect the Hopelessness of Afghans here. So he is justified in asking what were they doing for last 13 years in Afghanistan.

If Pakistan has decided to sent the Afghans back where they have no means of livelihood, the Indian govt. should help Afghanistan in their rehabilitation on the humanitarian grounds. Being driven to the hilt such people will be tempted to join Talibans (Afghan orPakistan) which is not in the interest of regional peace and stability.
Indian as well as Pakistani both Govt. should help but the problem is all of it would do very little because Afghanistan is still not a Functioning State and they are totally Dependent on others for almost everything from Security to Economy. Any Help reaching there would be good enough but wont going to change anything so a country need to continue their Program permanently rather then Temporary.

If India can not take such risk and can not afford hosting of 3 million refugees , then she should refrain carrying out from proxy wars in Afghanistan with Pakistan and shouldnt play "enemy of my enemy is my friend" with Afghans.

Do you consider Afghanistan your enemy?
Has India ever denied refugees from Afghanistan? We have 10,000 Afghan refugees and neither India nor the refugees have any problem.
India has seen what happenned in Afghanistan before and after the Soviet pull out. An unstable and disturbed Afghanistan disturbed the peace and progress of South Asia. Its in the interest of South Asia that peace and progress returns to Afghanistan and if this requires shelling out some resources then its definitely worth investing.
Please read what Gazi has written at #16. If you shoo the afghans away from your territory after hosting them for 3 decades, you are opening the doors of enmity with them. Imagine 3 million afghans return from Pakistan with an ill feeling... In my opinion whoever has taken this decision in Pak govt. is being very short sighted.

kill them all including women and childen or throw them in afghanistan today i dont care but i need pakistan empty from afghans bangalis burmees nowwwwwwwwwww

You know the biggest Irony is that Pakistani Pashtuns are the once who are more vocal in that and most of Afghan Refugees in Pakistan also happens to be Pashtuns as well so this has lot to do with Anti Pakistan Sentiments that prevail in Afghanistan and Spitted out by some Afghan Leaders Occasionally. When people started considering them as Back Stabbers then what do you expect would happened. I think it is Afghan Leadership that made such thing Possible for themselves and in Fact now Pakistan Military is the one who is trying to stop their Departure because they are Directly involved in Negotiation with Afghan Govt. and it is our Political Elements that wants to send them Back.

The upper hand or moral high pakistan gained over the decades by hosting the refugees can be lost in a jiffy, if the climax is messed up. The best way is to have talks with the afghan govt for their honourable return in phases and their rehabilitation. Some arrangements with the UN could be made so that they continue getting the refugee allowances even upon their return to afghanistan for a certain period. Pakistan, India and rich nations could contribute for their rehabilitation and this could help energise the economy. Afghanistan will not attract any non-govt. foreign investment until they have learnt to fight their battle on their own and they learn to change the govt. through peaceful means on their own. These two tests Afghanistan has to pass and they have 5 yrs to prove.

There is no moral high that Pakistan has gained. Afghans are thankless and they hate Pakistanis regardless of what we have done for them in past 30 years. According to UNHCR there are some 1.5 million registered and an equal (or more) number of unregistered Afghan refugees in Pakistan. In 90% of terrorism cases, Afghans are caught. We have had enough, we tolerated them for long for introducing drugs, weapons, human trafficking, smuggling, stealing jobs from the locals, stealing businesses from the locals, but now they are killing our children; that is too much to tolerate. They do not belong here, they must leave, all of them, and now. Moral high my foot.

It was harsh, too harsh, but thats the spirit. Pakistan is for Pakistanis. Period.

I dont think they would return HONORABLY because if they wanted they would have started 10 years ago when whole World was supporting Afghan Govt. with what ever they got but despite of that they decided to stay so considering Honorable departure would be a dream for Pakistan. Current Sentiments of Afghans in Pakistan is reactionary to Anti Pakistan Sentiments in Afghanistan and people are considering them Back Stabbers so more they stay would bring more Problems for them in Pakistan although it may be considered Short Sighted Approach but what can Pakistan do when Pakistan is already going through lot of pressure due to our Economy where we arent able to feed our people fully. Its Pakistan's Helplessness also comes to equation.

They are not the only Refugee Problem we face and you would be surprise to learn that their are another 5 Million+ Bangali Speaking refugees from Bangladesh and Burma in Pakistan as well but its Afghan Refugees that got all the Spot Light and they are the only ones dependent on Govt. Assistance while those Bangali Ones are mostly live in Karachi and are mostly earning as Paan Vendors and Fishermen and they also make large chunk of Karachi Labour force as well. They are also living in worse condition but are living on their own and like Afghans even Bangladesh and Burma doesnt want to accept them as well and Repatriating them is much bigger Problem then those Afghans who are next door to Pakistan. After repatriating Afghans we can Concentrate on their Rehabilitation because in the end of the day we have to Grant them Citizenship or wait for someone else to Accept them that would be the only Solution for Bangali ones in Pakistan.

Bengalis in Pakistan are the ones who sided with Pakistan against Mukti Bahini in 1971. They are bascally from Bihar who went to east pakistan at the time of partition and could not imagine that they would land up in Bangladesh and also those who went to west pakistan before 1971 and continue to live there even after the creation of BD.. They are loyal to Pakistan and not Bangladesh, so it will be difficult for BD to accept them. They are not refugees but part of partition process as a result of 2-nation theory. And Burmese perhaps are the Rohingyas. They are indeed unfortunate people who have been driven out of their land in Myanmar.

You are mistaken because I am talking about Bangali Speaking Population that started coming to Karachi in Late 1970s or Early 1980s and mostly reside in Machar Calony of Karachi while those Biharis are now Naturalized Pakistani Citizens and are Politically Active in Karachi and are mostly reside in Orangi Town Karachi. Those Leftover Bangalis of 1971 are now Integrated in Karachi Muhajir population and most of them are living Average Middle Class live like most Karachiite because they were Educated and use to be part of Govt. institutions like Urdu Speakers of Pakistan back in 60s. In Karachi most Paan walas are Bangali who have came after 1971 Fall of Dhaka and some of them still sends some of their Earnings back to Bangladesh as well. Although they are living more comfortably then Afghans because they dont face any negative sentiments in Pakistan as they have tried to live on their own rather then asking for Assistance from Govt. Those Rohingyas are often Confused as Bangalis in Karachi because they live in same areas as Bangalis and are also Related to same Profession in Karachi i.e Fishermen.

I was really unaware about Bengali speaking refugees in Pakistan and that too post 1971. But what made them leave Bangladesh for Pakistan and live a refugee life? Rohingyas and Afghans are understood but there was no persecution of Bengali speaking people in Bangladesh. Really surprizing how and why they migrated to Pakistan and why Pakistan accepted them?

I am also ignorant of their Reasons to leave but I assume that Human Trafficking could be the reason how they end up in Pakistan. They might want to go to some European Country Illegally but after reaching till Karachi and couldnt able to go any further then that. People only have Theories regarding their Existence. The reason for Accepting them was might be because back then Karachi City where almost all of them lives use to support JI and their was strong Muslim Brotherhood feeling among Karachiite so people instead of Despising them helped them settling and some of their Pakistani Brethren who left in Pakistan after Fall of Dhaka were Prosperous enough to help them to settle down as well.

Today these people are like in Every Corner of Karachi Streets Selling Paans. In Karachi there are two things without which a person's day is incomplete first is tea and Paratha from Pathan's hotel and second is Paan from Bangali Paan Cabin.

Oh and by the way..There are around three million Bengalis (1.7% of Pakistan's population) in Pakistan.

There are lots of things one does not know. No one is omniscient. We all discuss here based on general knowledge. Some have more awareness about a certain subject and some have less. That does not make them stupid and thats how one becomes more aware. Its very easy to use uncivilized words.
@ Gazi has patiently replied to my comments and made me aware about a lot of things without having to use bad words. Thankyou Sir @ Gazi.
