I remember the Korean said their Mid-Autumn festival is different than our Mid-Autumn festival, and that was the reason why they applied for the UNESCO Heritage.

I can't believe they would go so low to take our holiday and apply as UNESCO Heritage. Did they succeed?

I don't know and it may be one of the anti-South Korean rumours from internet, but that made huge controversy in China, HK and Taiwan. However, the South Korean did claim the Dragon Boat Festival and applied it in United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization. South Korea also planned to change the name of Chinese traditional medicine into Korean one and apply it in UNESCO as their own tradition few years back. Not to mention they also claim Acupuncture as their own invention. Some even suggest that South Korean also claim that the ancient Chinese medical scientist Li Shi Zhen is from Korea, but this one is unproved.

One of the extreme South Korean textbook even claim most of the China today were part of the Korean Empire 5000 years ago, that was all over in the internet with picture proof.
