Happy Holi!!

Happy holi to all.

While we celebrate, many have decided not to celebrate after the devastation in Japan. Also many using this celebration as an excuse to raise funds for victims.

Lets not forget our brothers and sisters in Japan. Lets celebrate their resilience and discipline.

"Abir-Gulaal" is a very common motif in Indian classical music bandishes. There is a "Phag" (sung at this time of the year) by Ajay Chakraborty (among others) on this. Ask your sister.

As Hindus celebrate the festival of Holi, many say they want to be identified as British Hindus rather than British Asians as they want society to be aware of their traditions.

The festival of Holi, known for its bonfires, dancing and the throwing of coloured paint brings more Hindus to the temple than at almost any other time of the year, as Robert Pigott explains.
