Which is the First Web Based Email Service ?

Hotmail was indeed the first web based email solution, and that was quite a significant evolution. That said, web based email wasn't the first form of email. Ray Tomlinson(an American) was the one who first invented email in 1971, and that isn't even taking into account that it was the US that created the Internet in the first place. No USA, no Internet, no email.

.

Then you are wrong.

HOTMAIL is the first mass commercial e-mail application provider. The first ever "at tag" message( The formation of e-mail) is by a CTSS system by MIT back in 1965. Not to mention the US DoD were using similar system back before Vietnam war and before they literally invented internet.

First to commercialise something does not mean they are the first to discover or invented it.

Also Have you ever wonder where E-mail will go if they do not work on a TCP/IP internet protocol suite Built by DARPA?

No internet, no e-mail, it's that simple.

actually the first ever Email (Electronic Mail) were used and sent by the MIT Intranet structure under the CTSS System in 1965, they use them until 1973 when they are migrated to Commercial Based Message application like Hotmail.

Hotmail is the first to Commercialise Electronic Mail, by no mean they are the one who "Invented" email. Common IT worker all agree the birthplace of modern e-mail is at MIT, not Hotmail Server.

I knew that intranet email predated Tomlinson's invention. I put more emphasis on Ray's work because prior to that, email was host restricted. CTSS email could only be accessed by logging into the host from which it originated. Tomlinson created the modern form of email by introducing the ability to email between networks, as denoted by his implementation of the "at sign" that every email service uses today.

I was emailing coworkers using Compuserve for nearly a decade before Hotmail showed up.
