What's new

Happy 4th of July

Absolutely gorgeous weather - vipers did a low flyby as well

Nice. Beechboys are performing at the usual Hatch Shell along the Charles River and it's usually the Boston Symphony orchestra and many stars that come and sing along with them and all of that is preceded by a fly-by of either F-16s from Vermont, F-15s for Western MA or the Blue Angels or Thunderbirs. Occasionally a B-2 Spirit will do a solo flyby, or a heritage flight. But the Blue Angels are scheduled to perform their show next weekend over Boston Harbor. So they might just be in town already to practice this week leading up to their show. I wouldn't be surprised if they make the flyby tonight. OR, no flyby at all! lol

East coast gets nothing due to the storm.

But we're north east and only minor drizzle and rain for most of today. Assuming you're talking about Elsa? That won't even hit Florida until Thursday at the soonest and I believe it's been downgrade to a tropical storm. Or are you talking about just rain? We've had them fly in rain several times before.

Happy Independence to all Americans, specially @KAL-EL not much activity around here, except for some white dude in their trucks waving flags and some random fireworks, but at least I got a whole week off from work that counts for something :D

. . .
Happy independence day Americans. I hope, some sense prevail and everyone in US can be prosperous. May the riots, shootings, and racism be thing of the past.

Luckily this country is so big most people consider most of the violence in a different country. Remember if you measured from one side to the other one edge would be in the UK and the other in Iran.

Sat in the car in the rain parked on Boylston near the Public Library for a nice wide direct view of the cCmmon. Fireworks obscured by smoke and fog.:(
my turntable was made by a very good company in Massachusetts

Boston Acoustics is still around or do you just mean Bose.

Yeah, vastness diminish the localised impacts. It is same like thinking that all of the US, looks like NewYork. :)
However, I don't want to be in US, and not bcz of racism or Islamophobia. It is bcz too much commercialisation of everything.

Be it education, health, housing, etc. Like, never ever in UK a house was sold, twice or thrice of its original price through bank mortgage. So no housing crisis occurred even in COVID.

The insulin price in US is around 100$, here in UK it is around 5-6£. Then, getting medical aid is like a privilege in US.

In UK, a student is not liable to pay student loan, if he doesn't get a job more than 23k £/year, after the graduation.

The thread is not about it, but I just stated that bcz I hope for citizens triumph over commercial interests of the industrialists. No, I am not pro-socialism.
