I have read Honourable Ranasikander’s remarks. The gentleman is undoubted a PML-N supporter trying to defend the indefensible.
It is a great misfortune of Pakistan society that it consists of ‘hero worshippers’. For PTI supporters, no matter how wrong Imran may be in giving a grant of Rs 300-million to the nursery of extremism, Kaptan can do no wrong. Diehard PPP supporters on the other will not accept that theirs is the most corrupt leadership in the world and still continue voting them in power. MQM supporters are as bad and also the JI supporters would follow their anti-Pakistan Taliban loving Amir Munawwar Hassan. How can one expect PML-N supporters to be any different?
The mind-set being that their party leadership, be it the Sharif brothers or LeJ supporter Rana Sana Ullah who ordered killing of dozens of Tahirul Qadri supporters in cold blood are always right. Thus even when Hanif Abbasi openly defies the Police, Honourable Ranasikander cannot condemn an undoubted criminal act; instead the he justifies the thuggery that since PTI supporters attacked the parliament & the TV, so what if Hanif Abasi did it?
Regret to say that apparently most of my compatriots are ignorant of what is right and what is wrong. My dear friends, two wrongs don’t make a right. PTI leadership & their followers were wrong when they attacked the TV station and the Assembly building. But this is no reason to condone Hanif Abbasi’s actions.
I was not there and can only know what happened from the news reports. If it is true that Hanif Abbasi snatched the ‘One wheelers’ from police custody by force. This was illegal and out and out thuggery which cannot be defended by any law abiding and rational person.
However, when people; who are guardians of the Law such as High Judges; put garlands on the cold blooded killer Mumtaz Qadri, do we really expect ordinary Joe public to give a hoot about the law?
It is about time Pakistanis realize that politicians, being ordinary humans, are also capable of committing criminal acts, and no one, “Absolutely NO ONE” has the right to take law in their own hands. Should anyone do so, he should be unreservedly condemned, no matter who he is.
