Yes, more tests needed to validate and for now initial 40 Tejas will be fitted M-2052 and if i am not wrong initial batches of Mk-1A i.e., 16-20 will also fitted with M-2052.

upgraded Uttam needs more power for that GE F414 has to be fitted and tested with modification with with Tejas until then Uttam will be under powered.

That will be a miracle. Uttam might fly soon on a LCA, but there's a lot more left to do before putting it in operation.

Meanwhile they're offering Uttam ToT to private companies. Hopefully we'll see a couple of variants of Uttam competing in the future.
