I just outlined there Plan (HAL is just an agency which will make LCA. HAL don't develop LCA).. Lets see how smartly they track there planned activities...

ADA is more or less part of the DRDO-HAL combine it does very little work outside it afaik so HAL in a way controls project development

So it look like LCA MKII will take a while. By looking at the time line, mkII should be ready in 2030. Will AMCA have its first flight by 2030. Will AMCA be converted to a six generation design. MCA was suppose to be a 4th gen fighter. It might be delay to sixth generation as the current requirement might be obsolete when India is ready to start the construction of a medium weight plane.
