HAL HJT-36 “sitara” back in top-gear

Check post #20

What you say is a matter of fact and is on record.
However, my gut feeling is that the Sitara will end being considered for the SKAT eventually. Its a matter of some time, since the Sitara has not been inducted into service yet and the IAF pilots en masse still have to get the feel of flying the aircraft, before they can set up their aerobatic routines. Relatively the Hawk has been in the hands of the IAF pilots for longer.
The need for the Hawks to be painted in SKAT colors was simply precipated by the need for more Kirans in the training program; otherwise the Kirans would have soldiered on in the SKAT. The IAF simply did'nt want to disband the SKAT.

Utter Balderdash!!!
Next you'll say that the IAF pilots are clones of PAF pilots since they have more similarities than these trainers even have. (like two hands, two legs, one head with no horns, two ears, one nose etc. etc.etc. :D)

I don't see it I'm afraid. Given all trainer aircraft WORLDWIDE have very similar appearances given their VERY SIMILAR roles. But I don't see a particuarly high degree of communality in design terms with the K8 which could constitute calling it a "copy". If you go to an aircraft designer Nywhere in the world give them what you are looking for and the parameters- good slow speed response, high observabilty from the canopy, responsive sub-sonic flight etc they are going to design VERY similar aircraft because for all AFs the demands for Intermediate flying trainers are almost identical. You can't re-write the laws of flight nor would there be any point in trying to re-invent the wheel.

But we all know where these remarks are coming from. The green eyed monster.

well sorry for wrong place of posting but i also think just one of our subramanian posted his desire to quit the forum because of bias against us, i too am quitting the forum.( till the post is not deleted) it's only goodbye to indian friends, no need for others to reply.

i got a warning as well so you guys know how pathetic it is to be trying to play a level game in a enemy territory

i don't see that i insulted someone like the pakis do and get away with it

i hope we all quit and join some impartial forum.

Hey pal, that's the nature of the beast. After all this is the PAKISTAN Defence Forum. I'm sure you'll prefer IDF.

My dad was part of the initial Indian effort to get foreign help to build the Tejas. That was over 25 years ago!

I'm tired of the progress reports. Let me know when the Tejas and IJT FINALLY get FOC!

The MMRCA would not have been necessary if the LCA had reached FOC on schedule.

Thats allot of Hard currency India could use elsewhere.

For some people it seems difficult to comprehend that we are not in the Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V business.

They just can't accept that we can make things on our own. [Accepting that some of them are truly world class is next to impossible for them]

@topic:
Excellent news. We are definitely moving in the right direction.

Yeah, nail in the head. Unlike others India is all about innovation NOT imitation. Indian entrepreneurship is a major reason behind the rapid growth rates and why they will continue.
