With the conquest in 1453, Muslims alone deserve the ownership of Ayasofia. Whether it becomes a masjid or remains a museum is upto today's Turks.

After inquisition all mosques were converted to churches or destroyed including that one in cordova. So if it was a catholic church, Russia might just issue a statement. But this was a orthodox church, he'll loose Russia. West will go after him like bull dogs.
How will the local muslim community even defend themselves when muslims across the border turn church into a mosque? Most of the ppl will become silent supporters, it is not that they will support far right directly they wont take any action either. This will be a boost to far right which will make it look like most ppl support them.

Any decision by Erdogan will be a collective decision by the Turk nation, he is a democratically elected leader with huge majority and overwhelming support of his people.
To those who are saying what will the west say or this will hurt relations with this or that, this is the problem with modern day muslims, this mind set right there is why the world of Islam has become so weak. We care about what the west will think, the muslims who were the declared superpower on earth for more than 800 yrs straight only cared about what Allah will think.
Do u think the Us, Britain, France, Russia or Israel give a flying fck what muslim nations have to say? They just follow the interest of their people. We should do the same. They can think what they like, we muslims shouldnt explain ourselves to anyone but Allah, let the spawns of Satan explain themselves to worldly Pharoahs.

Just a few days ago I was talking to my brother @Hakikat ve Hikmet about turning Aya Sofia back into Mesajid. Looks like the Soltanet-i-Osmania might be returning after all!
