Lahore, June 2 (ANI): Immediately after his release from house arrest on Tuesday, the Mumbai terror attacks' mastermind Hafiz Saeed has said that Pak forces should be brought back from the Swat region, as there was no need to fight.

Geo TV quoted Saeed as saying that he neither supports the suicide attacks nor does he accept the Swat Operation.

Appreciating Lahore High Court's verdict to release him from the House arrest, Saeed said the court order was the victory of justice and law, adding the government tried to link his group to Al-Qaeda.

Saeed also said that Ajmal Kasab has not been in touch with him or his organization. (ANI)

i am sure there was not enough evidence, otherwise he would not have been released.
I agree 100% that if he was indeed responsible he should be punished as per law but i guess either he is innocent or his tracks are well covered.
Whether it is Pakistan or any other country, there is no room for terrorism and anyone directly responsible needs to be taken out!

Regarding the anti SWAT-Operation statement, many people are of the same mindset so that does not mean anything regarding any links to TTP, even though it pisses me off to see such comments!
Sadly many educated people are still sleeping to the ground reality and Mullahs will be the last ones to support such an action and we all know it.

Let us hope for the best, at least the judiciary is acting independently so that is good to see.

Sir, the controlled approach can only work with a selfless leader which we do not possess by any means and no one is in sight as well.
We have had some sharp cookies here and there but no one is willing to put the nation before his self...and all want to save their precious behind when the going gets tough...

Very tempting but no more dictators and shocks to the system...

I strongly dislike our democratic parties and more so their leaders but i have now realized that there has to be a consistency in the constitutional process and with the passage of time we can hope for the transformation which was promised by all but delivered by none.

If indeed there is no solid evidence then how can he be hanged?

It was not entirely GOP's job to provide the evidence and the non cooperative start off to the investigation by India made sure that there was no smooth flow of information.
No wonder then that he is being set free due to lack of evidence.

I am sure that if there is evidence against him it is not in Pakistan's interest to let him go even if India is our enemy...it is not in our interest given the situation in Pakistan so i really doubt that it is the case of deliberately ignoring hard evidence.

WTF, mr you are manulpulating what he said.
He actually did not support what taliban is doing in swat and every one know here in pakistan that Jamdat ud dawa never supports any military attacks here in pakistan.

Groups like JuD/LeT are inherently difficult to control. They have worked with the ISI in the past but there can be no guarantee that they wont freelance or form other murky alliances.

When the UN asked for these organizations to be banned and action to be taken against these people, did the GoP protest against it? I don't think so. That means that they acknowledged what Hafiz Saeed and company have been doing. Plus didn't the GoP say that JuD and LeT have links with Al-Qaeda. That means that either GoP was lieing when it said that, or they have evidence.

Hopefully they will appeal and then provide the needed evidence.
