Hafiz Saeed blames India for floods in Pakistan's Punjab, says it's an act of war
India Today August 17, 2013
The chairman of the Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD) Hafiz Muhammad Saeed on Saturday strove to incite passions against India on social networking site Twitter. Tweeting about the recent floods in Pakistan's Punjab, Hafiz Saeed blamed India for the floods and said that India had declared war against Pakistan.
He further said that Pakistan's agriculture was being destroyed by the floods that had been caused due to the waters being released from Indian dams into Pakistan. At the same time, he called upon the people and asked them to reach out to as many people as possible and help them. He also lauded the Pakistan Punjab chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his government's efforts to provide succour to the affected people. About a week ago, Hafiz Saeed had threatened terror strikes in Delhi. That, however, was quickly denied by the JuD leaving security experts here wondering if the 26/11 mastermind was having second thoughts about terror mongering at a time when the Nawaz Sharif government in Pakistan was aiming for peace talks with India.
