some chinese members here think that China will use Gwadar as a military base.but they are dead wrong as neither China has the capability to project power,nor they has the idea to deplete their power in SCS.USA will have ships in Singapore as well as Diego Garcia(for now).as well as they have huge presence in middle east.Chinese presence in IOR region only alert the countries in this region and drive them for further increase their strength while accomplish no strategic interest(protecting sea trade lanes with few ships and subs???the whole idea is crazy.nobody blocks International sea lanes as it will be declaration of war against that country).I think Chinese members are forgetting their place.they are not a superpower,neither they have the naval capability like USA have to project power all over world.they dont have a Blue water navy.

You need to prove yourself in real battle field than on paper about how effectively you will be able to set blocade to Chinese Navy. Our defense budget is 3x of yours. And war not limited at sea, you have to prepare for land battle as well.

by the way,Iran is opening another naval base,apart from Chahbahar in that very region.so,countering Gwadar will not be that tough.China is decades away to use this base for naval use and USA is few months away to attacking Iran.even if they don't attack Iran,Indo-Iran co-op will be more than enough to keep Gwadar in check.

China has no guts to declare this port as their military extension nor they will use the same during any war between Indian and Pakistan. Its is Pakistan's port and Pakistan's responsibility.

If this will not be the case then when an enemy stretches away from its mainland its already thinned out or it has to be a hyper power, which will never be the case and we will make sure it remains at par.

India is likely to withdraw from an oil block in the South China Sea after hydrocarbons did now show up in an exploratory well, said government sources. Officials here have conveyed to Vietnam plans to terminate operations on commercial considerations, said the sources who knew about the talks.

ya I do know our current government isn't following Nehru,.... we learnt about the greedy back stabbers...and guess what . this isn't 1962,... we r the tthird strongest military after u.... I'm sure India would be beaten in scs but never in IOR ....

Indian officials insisted block 128 had low prospects of producing hydrocarbons, as was the case with the adjacent block 127, which OVL returned to Vietnam three years ago. But the two blocks have been part of a wider conflict in the maritime domain on which India released a statement.

Officials here said India would continue to remain engaged with Hanoi, viz. continuing operations and expansion of activity in the Nam Con Son basin that OVL was awarded as a goodwill gesture to India, which was allowed to sell part of the stake to other oil producers when it did not have enough foreign exchange to pay for all the three blocks.
